I love his story and wish him continued success. We need to get corporate donors out of politics. Disappointed by the Democratic leadership. That is not how leaders act

I'm chuckling at your comments about Desi young men being teased mercilessly by their parents from now on, after Mamdani's victory, nothing like pressure from immigrant parents - :), even as I hope that we will look out for Mamdani, as he and his team takes office. Look out for others who wanted him to lose, try to sabotage him - not just MAGA supporters, the corporate folks who put out huge sums of cash to defeat him, and corporate Democrats. Of course, Trump is really fixated on framing Mamdani as a threat, even though he calls Mamdani "the future of the Democratic Party...", not because he recognizes and supports Mamdani, but because he fears such a charismatic, authentic young leader who truly is for "the people". I read another piece, saying similarly that our work has just begun in electing these Democratic candidates to office. When they seek to advance the policies and programs that they campaigned on, we must support these proposals, and demand that other elected officials do the same. For Mamdani, he campaigned on ideas including universal childcare, rent control for residents in rent controlled units, free (and more efficient functioning) public transit, and a city run grocery store. People who support these ideas need to be loud in their support of these proposals, to ensure that they get passed, signed into law, and implemented successfully.

This morning, (Wednesday, 11-05-25) Mayor-elect Mamdani requested that donations to his transition team be made. They need financial support in order to do everything that needs to be done between now and January 1, 2026 when he assumes office. Please everyone help him and his team.

I am an old lady who's father was old when I was born. He was a labor organizer in the '30 when unions did not exist. Progressive before that party existed. This is the first election that has given me hope in a very long time. Congratulations Zohran and may you be the start of a wave of fresh air

I mean the subtitle - that this is just the starting gun. Agreed!!

It appears more Americans care about having public officials who serve the PUBLIC than are worried about the imaginary dangers the GOP is always yowling about.

This gives me a lot of hope (and trepidation because my South Asian dad has already been bugging me FOR YEARS about running for office ☠️)

Why not? Sounds like you'd be in good company!

I woke up this morning and couldn't WAIT to see about Mamdani - it was like seeing that Santa came!!!!! Over the moon happy. Yes we need more Mamdanis. But if he could do it the face of tRump's threats, his support for Cuomo, etc. others can too! SO proud of NYC! And Schumer and Company can get the f*#ck out. The door can't hit them fast enough.
