The Republicans are unabashedly voting for their special interests. Somewhere, buried in that bill, there's a gift to every special interest that supports the MAGATs.
Here's just one example: If $52B is going into building for-profit prisons; three guesses who'll be selected to populate those new jails. And in this way, slavery of a kind can be restored by putting those new prisoners to work at the low paying jobs most people won't take.
This is NOT a "BIG beautiful bill"! This is a travesty for the American people. I am disgusted & feel helpless to help. I certainly appreciate your informative presentation - too bad the house, Senate & WE THE PEOPLE did not have this months ago.

As to the 26% or so percentage of people who work but still get Medicaid, you could have diabetes, which is a chronic condition and requires insulin in many cases, as well as several other medications to control it, not to mention the diet and glucose monitoring. Diabetes is an expensive disease between the testing supplies the medications, and the doctor visits. That assumes you stick with the diet, too. You can work at most jobs if you have diabetes, but you might not necessarily be able to afford to pay for all the things to take care of the diabetes effectively that you need Medicaid. Private insurance that would cover the diabetes might be unaffordable. I know about diabetes because a good friend of mine had it. Fortunately, for him, he had a very good job and insurance that covered his diabetes. He did insist on using an out of network endocrinologist, though, but because he had a good job, it was affordable.
Diabetes is just one of the conditions where a person might need to be on Medicaid while still holding down a job. There are other chronic conditions that fall in this category. Diabetes is probably one of most common ones, and most people have some idea of what it is.
