I knew the Old South had closed many polling places. I didn't know it had teached 120,000! I am sure those closures are paired with restrictions on who can give voters how many rides, who can bring in how many mail-in ballots, and how wide is the window for early voting in person.
I don't know *how* this happens, but we must create another Voting Rights Act which will force the opening of polling places, or make a tamper-proof mail-in system.
Thank you for standing on the blood-soaked soil of our true history. There’s so much we don’t learn in school. What you have learned about the obstacles to voter registration in the states you traversed is important also. Please elucidate. We have 60-some days before the midterms. We must throw the fascists out. We have to have a ground plan that is realistic and starts NOW!
I am so enraged and saddened by the continual suppression of voting in Texas, the state I reside in. As a privileged white suburban woman, I am so so very sorry and I donate significant funds to organizations fighting for the right to vote. I pray that Talarico, Hinojosa, and others allied with them win so we can turn our cruel and corrupt state government around.
I am feeling so proud of you and the people who made the March. We need for everyone to know that what is happening in our country is very wrong in terms of not being able to vote for an American citizen and the racism which continues for so, so many. Thank you for all you have done
I’m not sure how anyone can tour the National Civil Rights museum and not be absolutely overwhelmed with emotion afterwards. Thank you for arranging for the walkers to tour the museum and for hosting an impactful culminating event for a wonderful cause.

The National Civil Rights Museum should be visited before visiting Washington DC. DC is a celebration of the plans the founders laid out whereas Memphis honors the actual work, sorrow and cost of taking risks and spilling blood to realize the plans.
There is no speech more moving than King's last one given in Memphis which I discovered when I went there is only a few blocks from where my father was born and lived in his youth. He could have walked easily to hear King speak had he not moved away years before. What would any of us not give to have been present hearing and seeing the man on that hot sweaty night?
Yesterday I demonstrated at a big community gathering with my sign that calls US support of Israel a national shame. A hate filled man came up to me to say that were there no other people around he would beat me to a pulp saying so with a big smile on his face.
Additional thought/comment: I hope you will write in detail about the barriers to voting that you learned about.
I recall Bishop Wm Barber was organizing a voter registration/ GOTV campaign in NC's Black Belt, to turn the gerrymander into a dummymander.
