I believe they are already doing that. I refer to them as republicans posing as democrats like Washington’s Marie K-Perez who’s originally from Texas. You can always count on her to vote with the GOP on issues that go completely against democratic values.

Personally, I don’t listen to what a group tells me to do. I don’t choose candidates based on commercials either. The more money given by PAC’s tells me, don’t vote for them. I’m a firm believer nobody gives enormous amounts of money unless they want something pertaining to them and no one else.

In Illinois, Juliana Stratton to replace Dick Durbin.

Great piece. I am just so underwhelmed with the senior democratic “leaders” and their inability to refuse AIPAC blood money. It’s really annoying that the Dems are willing to put forward a creepy white woman over a very “for the people” POC.

I haven’t paid attention to the DCCC for many years. It shouldn’t even exist at this point. Maybe if we abolished the DCCC, we could actually abolish ICE.

I wish I was in his district. I would love to vote for him.

Qasim, DCCC also endorsed a centrist, AIPAC/PAC candidate in the CA Central Valley to no avail. Randy Villegas, a grassroots progressive who worked his a** off, won his primary! Lost all respect for DCCC after that. Donate, call, knock on doors for Salaam, it makes a huge difference.

Qasim Rashid, Esq.'s avatar

Yes! I interviewed Randy and pushed his campaign. I’m so glad he won.

We still have lots of work to do 💪🏼

Good information

bob's avatar

Thank you, Qasim, for this important election candidate information.

I will send this on to the people who I know in Virginia. So many Americans are looking for non-traditional candidates, for people who they understand and trust because of what they have chosen to do in their communities.

Please let us know about others who you have the confidence to recommend.

Thank you and will do!

Among the reasons we read what you present here is that we know, from experience, that you actual do the 'will do' that you talk about.

'Walking the talk' isn't a joke that comedians and cynics own for their own specious uses. Saying what we do and doing what we say is how, in our real daily relationships and in making our choices of action, we define for ourselves and for others our integrity and our substantial contributions to realizing the interests we claim to have and the outcomes we claim to work toward.

We can have a sense of humor about -- with the partial and incomplete understanding and awareness that each of us has, at any moment, to use to choose, act, and follow through on by means of honest evaluation of outcomes -- how well or how not too well our choices and actions lead what we aspired to achieve.

But, the above is the point of the authoring of our Constitution and of its popular installation as our conscious and active form for our self-governance. We must choose to build, inclusively and incrementally, using this reasoned, cooperative and conscious form of guided governing of ourselves, the actual conditions we all live within, find security and optimism to live better within, provide each other with mutual respect and support within.

Thanks for all you help us understand and help us do.

Recurring donation made. Go, Salaam!

Qasim Rashid, Esq.'s avatar

Amazing! Thank you, Flora.

Thanks for making my decision so much easier. Salaam embodies all that a true Democrat should vote for.

Just as I finished typing, I received a text message from ST’s campaign asking for support. I told them how I will be voting in the primary and that I would support the D in November’s election. Support from AIPAC was denied!!!

Qasim! I didn't know you ran for Congress in VA!

I'm in VA-05 (Charlottesville, a blue dot surrounded by red, with maybe a bit more blue, or less red, than before.)

Our D primary is going to be easy IMO, and the general is going to be a steep climb. We have a 100% Trumper, but I have to believe that the red-rural folks are already suffering.

You wouldn't think of coming back to VA, would you?

Qasim Rashid, Esq.'s avatar

We miss VA but we also love being back where I grew up in IL :)

I was going to correct my comment but can’t find it. I am an angry Virginian about Spanberger and hadn’t read the article. Not in 1st and pretty happy with Suhas. Proud he showed up for the survivors and seems to have a smart team behind him. Took some AIPAC $ and will keep an eye out.

Qasim Rashid, Esq.'s avatar

Suhas has unfortunately voted very conservatively and has been silent on genocide in Palestine.

Jill Branton's avatar

Thanks for the heads up. We had a 5 or so in the primary and will reach out to you next time. I voted for the ex CIA agent but after seeing how bad Slotkin is, suspect it was not the right choice….

Katherine M.'s avatar

I wonder how Virginians feel about their vote for Spanberger now. Elevating an old white woman again as a safe reliable choice is so transparent, and will most likely get her elected. People don't actually seem to care about the issues when they clearly vote for the same kind of politician ad nauseam. I realize this is pessimistic but I have no faith that my fellow Americans are capable of learning anything.

Charlie's avatar

Shannon Taylor is 58. Not sure if you were referring to A.Spanberger? She's 46.

Do you consider Taylor "an old woman "?

Katherine M.'s avatar

I didn't know her age. In my opinion she looks older as does Spanberger. But that's not my point. They're both considered ideal types for the political establishment.

Jill Branton's avatar

Do you follow Kate Powell, MPE, CFRE? She is on recall of Spanberger path - though not seeing that post right now on her activity. Veto unions, spending bill and one other? Forget your Senate seat you lousy corporate middle POS we don’t want. 😋

Charlie's avatar

Thanks for the tip to Kate P. I would love at the very least to rattle AS's cage.

As a Virginian residing in the 1rst District I thank you for this information! I try to find out as much information as I can about all the candidates before I vote but I am fairly certain I would not have learned what you have exposed about Ms. Taylor. It would be a lot easier if the MAGA Dems wore the blue version of the hat.

Qasim Rashid, Esq.'s avatar

Wonderful to hear! Thank you!

Celeste Myslewski's avatar

Ha. I picture them with red and blue striped hats!! That's a great image you brought forward!

C. Arrol Brown's avatar

Thank you. I really like the striped hat idea. It would be more honest in its message than pure blue!

Celeste Myslewski's avatar

I'm an artist so I code everything visually. I have this comic picture in my mind of candidates wearing red hats, blue hats and red & blue hats!! It helps to laugh.

I was fed up with the DCCC a long time ago. IMO, they (should) have absolutely NO role in the primaries. But that doesn’t stop them. At this point, all it takes for me to not vote for a candidate is finding out they’re getting DCCC or other congressional “leadership" support. DCCC sends me their surveys, and I dutifully fill them out - and they rarely ask the questions I want answered - and tell them what I think. Just so they know every registered Democrat is not on board with them. But I’ve never, and can’t imagine a time when I might, sent them money so they can use it against us.

America has had enough of mega money and corporate sell outs. Anyone taking money from any mega or corporations must not be voted into office. It doesn't mean anything if they are running as Democrats. A politician by any other name will be as sell out rotteness. We want to get this garbage out of office. We don't want them. Be careful who you vote into office. We want to get the present cancer out once and for all. We want true blue, honest, fearless not afraid of a fight representatives that have right and wrong burnt into their souls and the American flag, the American Eagle their North Star.

Honor,Integrity, Truth, Justice, all their inner self.

Be careful who you vote into office.
