There have been times in human history that would have called Israeli actions "In defense of their nation", declarations of war - not just war crimes.
I do not entirely blame the original Israeli settlers for the stupidity, arrogance and laziness of the "great powers" for fobbing off their obligations to the Jewish people for all the historic atrocities Europeans committed against the Jews. On the other hand, we cannot overlook the fact that Jewish refugees in Palestine committed the same stupidities European powers committed throughout the inglorious days of colonialization..
I would have hoped the Zionists were smarter than us.
Netanyahu, Putin & Trump are all the same: malignant sadonarcissists who are destroying countries, both the land & people, either the one they're in control of now, or ones that they are trying to get control of (or both). And they are each aiding & abetting each other. We need to get rid of all 3 of them.
I have called my senators and rep to ask them 1. to stop taking AIPAC money immediately and forever (one of my senators doesn't take AIPAC blood money - Jeff Merkley) 2. Get the entire state of Oregon, all institutions, politicians, supermarkets, etc... to divest from Israel and publicize it loudly and 3. to create an Oregon fund for Palestinian relief and for displaced families. I think that politicians who accepted AIPAC money should fund the account with the amount received.

Much more important, when are we going to speak clearly about the bureaucratic and political habit of conflating objections to genocide with anti semitism. this is a bait and switch tactic designed to keep as many as possible frozen in inaction. please, let's address the use of conflation (by the israeli) as a distraction to prevent the pressing of charges against their leader.
I’ve spoken up about it several times on Substack and in emails to my very pro-Israel Senator, John Fetterman. Pro- Palestinians is pro-human rights; NOT pro-Hamas, NOT anti-Semitic. To conflate them is at best disingenuous.
Israel & those who claim that support for Palestinians is anti-Semitic cheapen and degrade real claims of anti-semitism, just like the story of the boy who cried wolf.
No one who supports human rights hears Netanyahu & his supporters moan about Israel’s persecution and hears anything but whining at this point, in my opinion.

They did not. But the war crimes they committed were on Palestinian land, therefore the ICC does indeed have jurisdiction.
