The NUMBER of employed people may have gone up, but that may be a reflection of there just being a growth in the working-age population. Unemployment (which should be checked as a percent) has gone up.
The US population grew about 1.8 million, or about .5%, which is the slowest growth rate since COVID. This mostly reflects the decline of immigration, which some people will like, but when you slow immigration, you also slow employment and decrease the tax base. Declines in immigration are generally not good for the economy.
I didn't listen much to Trump but I didn't see that he said much about climate change. If we don't take that seriously, inevitably more people from the southern part of the world will need to move to the cooler north. The north will have to grow more of the world's food because it will be warmer and able to do so. And there will be more conflicts over resources (water, land), which will lead to more migration, death, and destruction. But, thank god, the billionaires will be able to escape to Mars soon!!
