This enrages me beyond words. I feel helpless from afar. I can't even begin to imagine how she and her family are feeling. Please, if you're reading this, consider donating to the Center for Reproductive Rights.

I am picturing the “Hand Maidens Tale “, when one of the ladies who was forced to give birth in their society, went Brain dead. They kept the mother alive just long enough for fetal viability. Then, they removed the tubes and treated the mother’s body as if her remains were trash, and kept the baby in an incubator. Instead of Art imitating life, Life is imitating Art. Truly a dystopian America. 😡

This is not consistent with ANYONE’S religion. God or Nature or Universal Law or whatever one believes in has, with the criminal help of the medical community, ended the life of this woman and, as it always must follow, that of her unviable fetus. They are interfering with a process or a power they claim to honor. They are playing God, claiming they have the authority to determine life and death. They have no excuse for claiming morality here.

Republican-fascists are determined to lead us back to the time before Roe v Wade. Back Alley and Coat Hanger abortions for the poor, doctor assisted or trips to foreign countries for the rich.

Restrictive Anti-Abortion

Laws written by rich old white men on behalf of all women without any regard or understanding of the real lives of their women constituents.

Inherent racial and socio-economic inequality biases always built into legislation as though women had no thoughts, wants, needs, or desires of their own.

Thank you for this story. It's absolutely horrific. The word Horror is fitting. I tried calling. The first 2 phone numbers aren't getting to those Reps/ incorrect/changed fyi... The 3rd number given is the "Georgia State Representative Office" I left a message but who knows who will get it. I will email too✌️

I’ve emailed the reps, but can we call Governors outside our home state to request/demand reform?

I heard about this from another Substack yesterday. The title of that article: “Gilead is here.” Indeed, under his eye.

This story makes me physically ill to read. I dare any one of the authors of this law to attempt an explanation of how this has anything to do with right to life. There are so many victims in this case, but who really stands out in my mind is her young son who has to watch his mom laying unconscious in a hospital bed thinking she’s asleep, meaning he thinks she’s going to wake up while he’s watching her die. Barbaric.

Thank you, Qasim, for bringing awareness to this story and empowering us with the information & language for how to contact the monsters responsible for this.

One of the ironies is that if she didn't have healthcare (insurance), they wouldn't treat her this extensively. They would have released her.

Thank you for all your posts regarding the inhumane Republican monsters. Patriarchal misogynists want to completely control women by dehumanizing us. Brainwashed women are complicit in the cruelty. We are not "things" whose only purpose is to give birth. And thank you and the comnenters who post ways to contact the perpetrators to express our outrage.

Wow wow wow!

Im horrified

This is disgusting on so many levels

Why is there so many contradictions within the systems of America?!?!

How is it justified?

The person pays the bill it cannot and shouldn’t be passed on to others???

This is making the poor family grieve longer than necessary, its torture.

Poor family are victims of this and should have a right to sue.

This country is many things, but above all a nation built on contradiction & injustice with zero accountability for those who make the rules & hold the purse strings. It’s atrocious.

Absolutely outrageous!

The push for "fetal personhood" and what may come next, is just as disturbing.

it is actually beyond comprehension ... and is a shameful example of wrongful laws ... how can any ... ANY .. person actually think that this is acceptable action for the mother her family/son AND the unborn child who will come to know the bizzare beginning of life. Talk about intergenerational trauma being handed down. Talk about disrespect of women and the female body .. talk about laws being made over which there is no control that impact ones own body .. it must be chilling to live in a place that allows this.
