Halligan also admitted she lied to the court. And yet no punishment for her. Perjury without consequenses.

A great interview with LaTosha Brown. She said something that really resonates with me. I myself haven't owned a TV since I was 26 years old. I'm now 76. People always used to tell me things like "there's nothing worth watching," or it's "all repeats" in the early years. Then you got 50 Trillion channels (I exaggerate to make a point) and they still tell me the same thing! What TV does it assumes you're too stupid to think for yourself and they step into the breach to do it for you. You don't notice it but as night follows day but they have infiltrated your thought processes. Actually they have changed your thought processes. The "medium" really "is the message" as Marshal McLuhan used to say. As LaTosha says, you end up buying something you can't really afford, or as I see amongst my acquaintances, you buy something because "they" TOLD you "you wanted it." That "something" sits in the back of your closet or down in the basement, sometimes still with the price tags still on it and in the same bag it came with! I personally stopped buying anything from Amazon 4 years ago after I found out about their terrible treatment of their workers. I shop at a supermarket but also get my fresh meat and vegetables and fruit from the street market. They are in my neighbourhood Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. They even have stalls where people sell second hand stuff that still has some life left in it for 10% of the price or less! Maybe it's because I grew up in a family of 7 kids but when we were given treats that we would consume in an hour and then have to wait a week for the next treat. It may sound frugal to some but I can attest to the fact that we appreciated what we had more than some families do. Quantity doesn't always mean quality of life! I know I belong to a bygone age but even though I live on a State pension I never feel the "bite" like some of those a decade younger than I do on the same amount. Also after living in Canada for many moons I learned to shop for 2 weeks to a month at a time. So I avoid the "weekly", sometimes daily shopping habit that other elders do here. I like cooking so make enough for a few meals and freeze them. I live in the UK since I turned 60. Life is what YOU make it. Stop being conned is the message I would tell anyone willing to listen to me lol!
