I'd point out that this 'soft secession' idea would be justification for Trump to declare those states to be in rebellion and to deploy full military forces to take them over. This appears to be what he's been trying to do since the inauguration. I say this, even though I think it'd be very justified.

I admit, I've avoided studying politics for all my life, so please tell me where I'm wrong!

Just wanted to add a link to an article by a Christian concerning the Christians trapped in the Gaza War, and how at least SOME U.S. Christians are hearing their cry. The article is entitled Christ in the Rubble.

Great show! I did not realize that Democrat States essentially bankroll Republican States! I agree with you about ‘soft succession’ and I hope that your passion will resonate with Democratic governors and mayors. It is past time that We the People right our own ship of state.

Agree, not sure if I’m seeing all of the hearts for this important & correct plan.

I fear the House never will reopen. And the Senate is shut on the Republican side at least--present but inactive. I do think Secession is the right course now. Hope is dwindling.

Ro Khanna has a great outline for what Dem's should do in our future, dream on, with the frozen base we have locked in the Democratic party. I have been a strong democrat my entire voting life. Bernie Sanders was my dream for what was to come. The Dem's did everything they could to block him, and doing so gave us Trump!

We are decimating our public lands and our parks have already been traumatized. I'd like to see a WPA-type jobs program. AI can't build trails and public buildings.

The Repubs whine a bout States Rights. Unless it is a Repub. policy like Dobbs . They are hypocrites as they show every day .

I must be a political strategist! I advocated thus since the beginning.

Glad you were able to interview Ro Kahanna. He is an important figure in The House.

I support you, Qasim. Keep trying for Congress — we need your ideas and commitment to fair justice, inclusivity and progressive stance. I love that you participate in protests like so many of us do.

Great conversation!!! Thank you!

I saw her (Cat) on The Left Hook and she showed video of what happened to her. This is unconscionable and we need to keep it up.

Ro Kahanna was able to mentioned Senator Sanders , not AOC in terms of younger stronger progressive leadership. He still taps dances around GAZA owning the word genocide. If the US did would our weapon sales become legally unable to be provided ?

He never mentioned taxing the rich at all. How about the states wealth tax in response to BBB.And how many hold Palentir stock ? Hope we can help the protestors in Chicago against these federal charges , and Kat.

Rep Khanna has been pretty clear that it is genocide and he makes no hesitation to say that. I also believe he is very much pro taxing the rich and has even discussed in other interviews how if he can be for taxing billionaires while representing the most billionaires in Congress, how can anyone else claim it's a bad idea.

Frances's avatar

I support you , however pushing back on Gaza, Congressman Kahanna refers to a outside authority calls it a Genocide, can you take funds from J Street if you call it Genocide. Many in Congress do the same tap dance. Anyway we agree to disagree here ✌️

During the Great Depression, so many people were malnourished to the point of rickets. This had a blowback effect when it came time to recruit for military service for WWII. So many men were physically unqualified—FOR REAL, not mere bonespurs that mysteriously disappeared once the Vietnam War ended. That’s the historical fact—good nourishment en utero, in infancy and childhood makes for strong soldiers and breeders of more. Since ancient times, when the word “proletariat” was coined, the poor and/or unlanded class has filled these two purposes in the eyes of the rich. ((( & [[[

Do we need a third party called the Progressive Party?

Qasim Rashid, Esq.'s avatar

Working Families Party already exists, and they're awesome.
