Thank you for this conversation. For joy in hard times read Jack Gilbert's poem A Brief for the Defense.

I absolutely believe a General Strike is required along with economic boycotts of the billionaire businesses. Money is the only thing that has clout in the U. S. A little sacrifice by the people is required. The democratic governors need to stop sending taxes to the federal government also. There are ways they can do this legally and they should follow through. Time to be bold and fight back where it will have the most impact.

It has been said that patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel, but I think that bigotry is one as well. We are at such a political low point that a turnaround is a must if the country is to survive as a place to be proud of, not the shameful place it is supporting genocide for the past two years leaving liberty and justice for all forgotten.

I think indivisible as the next phase of their development will begin to explore seriously, large boycotts and other actions that can be very targeted and clear and hopefully successful bringing together the 8 million people that marched to carry this new type of action out.

I heard Ezra Levin speaking about it on the Midas network

We need the names of contractors calling ICE to not pay them and publish those names

This is an excellent video Qasim. I believe the speech by Mamdani, will draw more people to him. The United States is in DESPERATE need of a range of backgrounds to represent us. Black, Brown, Latino, White (not post-retirement age!), & a sufficient number of women. Muslims & Atheists need to be added to the mix too. In my personal experience, I see minority people and those on the Left striving for a better life for all! This despite being treated unfairly throughout life! It takes a magnanimous person to withhold their bitterness to this unfairness and instead participate to change it for the better. I think we will want you to run again Qasim…after Fascism is squelched, and it WILL be. We need sane people to re-write our constitution and eliminate the wrongs. No presidentbwill ever again be given sole power to pardon Seditionists and other criminals. The public will lose almost all access to guns…on and on.

Like you, I call the filthy rich, money hoarders. No one can EARN a $billion, no one could spend it in a lifetime unless they went around the world buying governments and other entities to deny the basics to many. One dollar over a $billion accumulated in a lifetime, should become illegal. As of Oct 2025, Musk is estimated to be the hoarder of $470 BILLION!! According to Bloomberg ($500 B according to Forbes). One man owes us $460B or $499B. ONE PERSON…could return our money to use for Health Care for all, housing for all, and higher education! We could fund Climate Crisis solutions! But we have 813-1135 multi-BILLIONAIRES in the U.S.! They would still live their lives like Kings!

I've been thinking for sometime that the power we have is in numbers. A massive strike against the money folks. Hitting them in their wallets will be the best thing we can do. Look at what happened when 'we' the people stood up for the the TV host.

It may be a bit late trying to abolish billionaires, now that they have such overwhelming power in our country. Steps to reverse the trend of ever greater wealth disparity should've been taken long ago. I've been calling for it about as long as Bernie has, but that has turned out to be a futile endeavor. It's probably worth a try, anyway, especially if we can get enough American people on board.

Mamdani being elected will give the United States of America a big leap through racism. I don’t think we will be rid of hate but thus Muslim man’s election can move our nation and few monopoly spaces. NYC is the luckiest place to have a guy like Zohran in a leadership role and can make a good shift in democracy at the same time.

Congratulations Mayor Pro Tem Mamdani. Thank you for your leadership. Much love and peace.

Have hope! 🤜🏽🤛🏻
