Here are 100 protest signs. The moment demands protest. To each it should be unmistakable—urgent and morally unassailable. I speak for justice, duty, and shared humanity. Act now for those we must protect. Rise. We have protests to do. Good trouble.
I agree -- EarthJustice because the Earth needs a good lawyer. Been aware of their good work for years. What I don't get is why these companies keep destroying the Earth they have to live in too?! Just cause they're rich, doesn't mean they can escape from the same air we breathe!
I am attempting on my own to get the attention of owners of large gasoline powered vehicles such as the Chevrolet Suburban, Cadillac Escalade and high performance (gas guzzling) vehicles such as Porsche and BMW make. I place a flyer on the driver's doorhandle that shows two graphs, one for atmospheric CO2 and one for global average temperature. Both are climbing together with no moderation in the rate of increase.
Noting that each year is warmer than the one before, the flyer asks the driver if the salesman who sold him/her the vehicle mentioned global warming, that to make the sale no salesman would do so. I then go on to describe how much CO2 is generated by burning a gallon of gas and that it is evident from the popularity of large gasoline vehicles that drivers are not aware of what is happening and that buying "big" is making things worse.
I have distributed about 1500 of these flyers here in my local area, noting license plate numbers so I do not flyer any vehicle twice. The flyers are placed when the vehicles are unoccupied because I don't want to influence anyone by my presence, the flyer making the case (or not) by itself. I don't fool myself that this activity will change the world, but it might make people think about what they are doing. The flyer is not accusatory or condemning, it appeals to reason.
Canadian wildfire smoke is now impacting the US broadly and over days at a time, greatly damaging air quality in a visible way that, I hope, will get people thinking about what they do despite a president that declares global warming a hoax.
For your obvious concern about the environment, I am going to upgrade to a paid subscription. Thank you for your efforts on this subject and others.
Thank you for your courage and activism, Mr. Rashid! Preserving the earth for future generations and taking care of our environment and ecosystem are truly righteous causes in my opinion, and definitely worth fighting for! Here's hoping we can turn things around and heal the planet in the years ahead
I’m glad to read that you went to Lahaina. I was there with an organization that works with children. I’ve worked with traumatized children for a long time, and never saw kids with terror like theirs. Pain and anguish, yes, terrible fear- but to be three years old or five, and struggling in rough water while colliding with bodies? Never before. Thank you for representing their parents and others who lost everything. Thank you for representing those whose property rights were being threatened almost immediately by developers who wanted to build expensive condos instead of affordable homes for the suddenly, horrifically homeless. Thank you for helping bring them justice.
Thank you, Qasim, for all you do. My heart melted when you noted the pro bono legal representation you provided to victims of the Lahaina firestorm. I'm from Hawaii. I've also supported Earth Justice for years.
Here in Aotearoa New Zealand we have a similar law firm called Lawyers for Climate Action, and currently they are litigating Z Energy (BP) for greenwashing. We also have a guy, just one guy, who has won the right to take a case against several of our biggest corporations on behalf of his land and his spiritual wellbeing. He is working on behalf of his Maori tribe. It’s taken him years to get this far but it’s a hopeful development
I am proud to contribute regularly to EarthJustice. They are just awesome. And I know, from working for a grassroots environmental organization for years, that often the ONLY place we won our issues was in court! It’s so important! (And I just sent an additional contribution to EarthJustice. Thanks for the reminder!)

We have given monthly to Earthjustice for years, but, because of your email, I made an additional one-time donation.
"Earthjustice-because the Earth needs a good lawyer." A wonderful organization.

Thank you for this info; I appreciate you! I am unable to donate as I am unemployed, for now.
But, I started using Bamboo Toilet paper from "Who Gives a Crap?" They donate 1/2 to charity of putting toilets in places they don't have any.
whogivesacrap.org It's strong & the trash bags are better than any brand I have ever tried.
