Regarding the economy and democracy I have this terrible feeling of the calm before the storm. I listen to APM's Marketplace, which has taught me a lot about economics, and the current gist seems to be--the economy is okay and will likely get better soon. Trump is spending like a drunken sailor, the national debt is mushrooming--a reckoning will have to come and we-the-people will have to pay the bill. And I just see no acknowledgment of this at all. CC debt is at an all-time high, and people have stopped saving. Where will the money come from. No one seems concerned. The Federal government has become so unaccountable that innocent people are shot in the street and no one is held responsible. Everyone relying on "elections" to change all that may soon be in for a surprise. And, really, what will we be able to do? We can't even make them release the Epstein files or tell us whether Mitch is dead or brain dead. As Ky Trump said, "Welcome to my house." It's important that we keep trying, but in a Dictatorship, you may go to the gulag for that. Too many people are not taking this seriously enough.
