If only people would take their blinders off in the whole country and accept that Democratic Socialism is the way to a future that lifts ups families and creates a fairer society. Thanks for this run down Qasim. People all over the country need to see it's working and will then stop voting for people who aren't working for them. That'll make them reject the past failed model.
I've listened and read your conversation with Mayor Mamdani, as well as being at his inauguration, .... and I am mightily impressed. Things can happen quickly, when one is COMMITTED to good progress and willing partners. Thanks for highlighting this man, and I hope, and am pushing others in government, to have an open mind, and throw out the ineffective old ways, the eternal staying in office. They don't have to be young candidates ... experience, mentorship is useful, ... but young ideas can move us forward as a progressive country.
Please note that neither the current governor of NY and the current mayor of NYC are white men…the least incentivized group of people to work for others. I suspect the speed of accomplishment and willingness to make it happen has to do with that simple fact. Just sayin’. Apologies if this sounds sexist/racist, it’s not intended as such.
I was very pleased when you posted yesterday that the Mayor and the Governor got together and worked out a plan for the Universal Child Care plan. This demonstrates how cooperation yields results. It shows how the Governor has been influenced by Mamdani to come to the table to address this issue. Their plan is realistic and will take some time before it reaches full fruition - just as many of FDR’s plans, like Social Security started out more limited and became more universal in time. I did learn, however, much of the work still needs to be done as the NY Legislature will need to approve the plan and can seek modifications. So this was a big step but it will take much more work.
That much-needed McGuiness redesign was never blocked by "the community". Corrupt Eric Adams was taking bribes... again! We are lucky to have Mamdani as our mayor.
Every objective observer knows that the ICC is not an objective body. And since 1948 Israel has being a Jewish country defending herself against the genocidal attempts of the Palestinians- and not the other way around- so stop your distortions of the facts!
It seems that one thing that is very different from other administrations is the level of cooperation between the governor and the mayor. I remember earlier times of poor relationships, especially with the former gov. This partnership is incredibly important and will continue to be so.
Funny how “that’s impossible” turns into “well of course” the second someone actually does the work. Universal childcare didn’t fail. The cynicism around it did. Turns out when organized people show up louder than organized money, budgets suddenly find a way. Weird how that keeps happening when leaders stop managing expectations and start keeping promises.
Pretty impressive, and inspiring. Dependable child care is essential to working families, and early childhood education is essential to later success in school. Bravo to this mayor and governor for getting the ball rolling. I hope this can be expanded statewide, as in New Mexico. It’s a big lift, but so promising!

This makes my heart sing. We need more politicians like Mamdani!
Your thoughts…about my prediction ?!?!

This is great news, but are you aware that New Mexico has free child care for the entire state?
Mayor Mamdani is setting a wonderful example of how to govern. Bless him!

Mamdani hit the ground running at break net speed . Impressive.... Zohran rocks
This guy's on fire! We need more like him in government.
