This makes me think of the book, The People's HIstory of the United States, by Howard Zinn. In the beginning, before this was declared a country, there were the wealthy landowners, the indentured servants (white), and the slaves from Africa. The indentured servants and slaves were fomenting together against their owners, so the owners thought, what if we pitted them against each other? Which they managed to do. Color of skin. And, four hundred years later, we're still foolish enough to still be at it.
Presently I'll be looking up what the "Bench" is. An arm of AIPAC? Need to find out....

POLITICIANS have tried to redefine nursing as a non-professional degree and now they are trying to claim authority over the criteria to determine who is and is not a doctor. Do you see how this works, now?
For all those “professional healthcare associations” who thought they could feed the corrupt system to work in their favor, let this be your final warning. You won’t escape fascism unless you confess your sins and join the pro-democracy resistance.
This is such a horrifying story on so many levels. You cover them all and it is clear the DNC needs to clean house, distance itself from these consultants and find a real message and insist anyone running as a Dem stick to a uniform message. The bottom line this story underlines is that the Democrats never fail to give the "enemy" all the weapons they need on a "silver platter." There are so many issues Dems could run on without resorting to lies, defamation. This is shameful and the DNC should say so.
How devastatingly disappointing! I liked her too and now it is apparent that her integrity is bought and paid for by those who hold heinous values. Very sad. I have seen and heard interviews with DOCTOR El Sayed and am extremely impressed with HIS clear integrity, intelligence and commitment. MICHIGANERS VOTE EL SAYED! (I am in NM but still….we are all in this together).
Another Abigail Spanberger? I liked McMorrow, too, but this is completely unacceptable. This is what MAGA does. This is not what Democrats are supposed to do. It's as simple as that.
I hope she loses. Virginia, unfortunately, is now stuck with Spanberger for 4 long years. She's been in office an incredibly short time and people are already regretting their support of her.
Im so glad you wrote about this. The way I see it is that her smear is continuing the attack on public health that the administration is currently waging. In addition to being racist and uniformed, it's also buying into the real capitalist propaganda about the hierarchy of medical professionals. This is real and we all need to become more aware of it (e.g., surgeons over gps; dentists over podiatrists; practicing physicians over researchers and public health specialists, etc etc). The current administration is attacking public health because it serves our actual thriving as a society (something they clearly do not want). Shame to see her do it too.

This needed to be said. I really used to like her, but have become increasingly disappointed-and now angry- with her over the last year. She's smart enough to know that plenty of Drs elect not to do residency, not to mention the thousands upon thousands of PhDs, also properly addressed as "Dr." I would say that using this thin and bigoted argument is beneath her, but...here we are. Apparently not. The real issue is that he just outflanks her and Stevens on every damned issue, especially on Gaza/Israel. The desperation is really getting rank.

I work in healthcare operations and research at a massive US research institution and system of medical professionals schools and PLENTY of people go into these programs (MD, etc.,) knowing they’re going into policy or innovation. They get the MD and they are doctors. So ignorant, so stupid of Mcmorrow who I blocked after being disappointed in her campaign strategies
I am a Michigander. It was a shame from the start that we had three candidates because any one of them would have been a “safe” choice over a Republican candidate. My friends (all recent retirees, white) were in McMorrow’s camp from the start, while I chose Abdul. I’ve met him several times and am working to get him elected. I’ve also met Mallory. While she was impressive, Abdul bested her in very category that matters to this progressive voter.
I’m happy to see tho polling shown here but am concerned because that’s not the picture that’s painted here. What I’ve seen shows the good doctor trailing the women. I hope Mallory drops out of the campaign before she hurts the party and her own image any further.

Thank you for modeling accountability. We as Americans have to learn to be okay with being wrong and changing our mind when new information arises, it inspires others to do the same. And thank you for calling out this behavior. I can't vote for either of them but I have listened to conversations with Abdul and I'll be rooting for him. We need more people who refuse to participate in the status quo. The status quo is killing us.
