I'm afraid that what your are describing is what's already apparent in Russian media. They concoct stories to show that the regime is "great" and that those that don't follow that line are the "enemy." They also concoct stories to make dissidents sound anti-Russia, rather than anti-Putin! America fell into this because too many of it's citizens already had the thoughts that donnie little dick gave voice to. If this tyrant is to be overcome it's going to have to be done by The People. There's not enough pushback by the democratic establishment, either because they can't or they won't. I was recently dubbed a "fascist troll" because I didn't agree with a democratic representative? It seems that the divide has become "my party right or wrong" too. I'm afraid if you are not even allowed to disagree with an oppositions stance you are also labelled as a fascist. The rot is setting in.

This article is a great reminder that fascism and oligarchy go hand in hand. The collusion of corporate power with state power is at the center of fascism. This is part of the methodology of how fascism gains power over our lives. Too often that connection gets lost or ignored. Thank you for helping people to understand the totality of what we are up against.

How much of what we’re seeing has to do with money? You have a horrific murder of a journalist and we know who the perpetrator is but this perpetrator also has financial dealings with the man in the White House. It is clear to me that the opportunity for the Trump family to earn billions of dollars on various deals with the Saudi’s, is far more important than the life of this American journalist. How do we hold Trump accountable is my question! how do we call him out for the abusive power, both he and family members of his office for financial gain?

The international oligarchy doesn’t want the truth revealed. They don’t care what your country of origin is. They are equal opportunity oppressors.

Had Kashoggi been a white Christian dude ... well all know the outcome had been different.

The continuing ruination of our society is a direct result of the Supreme Courts terrible Citizens United decision, allowing the unregulated, unlimited funding unto our political system by the elite rich. They in turn positioned themselves to control the media, the courts, the congress and the white house. Money corrupts as they say, and we the people have a ring side seat to watch it in action.

Speaking to Bob Woodward, TacoDon had a whole other perspective of the Saudi Crown Prince role. He told Woodward "I saved his ass"

This case of reversal being essentially ho-hum puts me in mind of the infamous Molotov-Ribbentrop Agreement in which Stalin reversed himself and made nice with Hitler in exchange for a plan to divide up eastern Europe between the two powers.

The world was stunned back then. These days reversals are routine. The most astounding one to me especially for the fact that the person involved showed not a clue of his reversal was Joe Biden calling himself a Zionist. What could be more of a reverse from liberty and justice for all? Not only did Biden not hesitate, mainstream media did not question this outrageous declaration from the President of the United States pledging himself to ethnic cleansing.

International law is dumped by the US, the very country that for so long promoted it. Trump declares the scientific fact of global warming a hoax.

We are heading deeper into chaos. What we see is not what we get. What is declared today is reversed tomorrow. Amid bitter name calling, confusion reigns.

It’s wild watching billionaires treat morality like a Netflix subscription they can cancel whenever the plot gets uncomfortable. One minute Khashoggi is a martyr for free speech, the next minute the same people who cried on TV about him are clinking glasses with the guy who ordered his murder.

This isn’t journalism. It’s access-porn for the powerful. And you can almost hear MBS saying, “Relax, nobody remembers anything anyway,” while Bezos nods along like he just got a promo code for forgetting.

If democracy dies in darkness, the least the Washington Post could do is stop selling flashlights to the people who turned the lights off.

Safeguard the midterms! The Democrats need to coalesce behind a viable candidate next year. We have to hold our prez primary during the 2026 midterms if we are going to have any hope of safeguarding the midterms. Get the Democratic leaders to support the early primary. We can’t afford to have infighting in Mar 2028, arming maga with dirty laundry while they have been supporting the current dictator for three years, raising money while Dems are lost. More info at tinyurl.com/DemFallPrimary

It will only take a few states to agree and the rest will too.

It’s time for Democrats to be BOLD and create a formal opposition party the media can’t ignore.

I don't know what to say. I am beginning to be afraid to say anything. And I'm not very sure about what I hear. Did I fall asleep and wake up in some "sh-t hole" country ruled by a strongman where everything is some dystopian comedy of "normal"?

Thank you, Qasim, for highlighting this travesty in the media. Does NO ONE care about their integrity, over money these days? Seems not. We are not powerless, but most of us reading this, do not have the money to compete with THE MONEY. We will continue -- not giving up on America. Watching Ken Burns' The Revolutionary War, last episodes tonight. This wasn't easy, and the parallels of rich white men, landowners, not really trusting the common folk, that it was a civil war b/w the British loyalists and the rebels, colonists who, for many personal reasons, decided to fight with Gg Washington, .... is remarkably similar to today. Ken Burns did not speak out against trump, but the fact that he put out this documentary at this particular time, is revealing. He did make the comment, in an interview, that PBS is free (telling).

Do yourself a favor and WATCH IT. Six 2 hour episodes.

Maybe that says more about our too romantic view of WP’s past than it says about the dire understanding we have of WP now. Ever looked into the past of Bob Woodward?

- His military background - in intelligence spying on people (including Kissinger).

- That senior officials at the Pentagon recommended the WP to hire this junior person with no public record - just one year before this nobody would report Watergate and dethrone Nixon…

- of course completely unrelated: Nixon was very critical of Israel.

And this is all just Woodward. There is plenty of analysis connecting WP chief editors in their “glorious times” to the CIA. I dont think there is any reason to yearn…
