I agree that Islamophobia is not a political issue, but a moral one. I am an atheist, raised in a Methodist home, and I taught my children about the kindness, sensitivity, forgiveness and love that Jesus preached. He taught people how to live together in society. My daughters should have a perspective on prophets through the ages. When I cannot solve problems, I turn to my Higher Power, the wisdom of the Universe. I don't degrade others for their religions, ... but it seems as if trying to force others to BE your religion, has caused more wars, more deaths, as much as the greed of dictators, has. Morality is a sense of what's good in this world, not what a certain god TELLS me to do, or be punished. Being raised by GOOD christians, of course, set me on my path to know what's right and wrong, but also to question >>> which led me to not-a-formalized religion, which seems set up by MEN to hold onto their power in their specific religion. Anyway, that's me.

Linda,

Basically, yes. With Shapiro, it’s his hypocrisy more than anything else. With Fine, he’s just scum.

The reason why the anti-genocide protesters were so outraged at Democrats is because they expected a lot more from them, based on the rhetoric of Democrats.

But the people on the far-right are far more Islamophobic and far worse for Palestinians than establishment Democrats are. And they are also many times antisemites who are horrible for Jews.

Both of these men made me sick, as I read your posting, and they need to lose their positions. Anyone who is a racist and a bigot needs to be called out. Randy Fine's comments are completely abhorrent. I would like to thump, thump over him, but he is too well fed for that to work. And Shapiro, being pro-Israeli, at a time when netanyahu is performing crimes against humanity, is shameful, no matter what religion he is. I am Jewish (not religious) and I am totally saddened by what is happening to the Palestinian people. All good people, not matter what their religious choices are, need to stand up against transgressions towards members of the human race.

Linda,

While I am extremely disappointed that Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro went on Ted Nugent’s YouTube channel and demonized Zohran Mamdani for no reason, it is factually inaccurate for Qasim to say that he and fat slob Congressman Randy Fine of Florida are the same when it comes to Israel-Palestine (if that’s what he was saying).

Shapiro has been an outspoken critic of Netanyahu in the past and he has gone out of his way to reach out to Arab and Muslim Americans in Pennsylvania. He needs to call for all weapons transfers to Israel that are not strictly defensive to be suspended and maybe even call for crippling economic sanctions to be imposed on Israel until its genocide of Palestinians stops. And to retract the despicable comment about Palestinians he made in 1992.

It’s the hypocrisy of Democrats like Shapiro claiming to be for social justice and, at the same time, facilitating a genocide by supporting sending American made weapons to Israel that is using to perpetrate that genocide that makes what he is doing worse. Even though what Fine said and is attrmpting to do, in and of Itself, is far worse .

So are you saying you agree with me? Yes, I agree Fine is far worse, but it is not a battle of who is worse, it is a battle of both men need to change their ways, which in Fine's case will probably never happen, and Shapiro needs to be worked on.

Shapiro also allowed a friend of his to get away with the brutal murder of his wife.

Fascinating to just buddy up to Nugent of all people tho. Like the admitted pedophile is also racist and antisemitic? Quelle surprise! 😮

Rashid!

Thank you for outing the Islamophobia in the Democratic Party!

ALL Racism MUST BE CONDEMNED!

When racial slurs and hate speech are tossed around as facts, we MUST OUT THE PERPETRATOR REGARDLESS WHO IT US!

Josh Shapiro came very close to running as Vice President with Kamala Harris in 2024 !

Never again will I see him the same way!

All his charisma is wasted on a hateful mind, window- dressing covering a racist!

Shapiro have also wanted Mandani to apologize for and condemn something he have never said. A missunderstood expression "globalize the ntafada". And Mandani didn't want to condemn speech. Many "jews" apparently think this is an expression of antisemitism. Because the expression "intafada"was used about 2 rebellion/resistance movements against Israel. The First Intafada and the Second Intafada. I looked up the definition of Intafada "The term "Intifada" translates to "shaking off" in Arabic and refers to two significant Palestinian uprisings against Israeli occupation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip."

So to conclude, the expression "intafada" isn't even antisemitic. It has nothing to do with religion even. And according to a wikipedia article. this is what "Globalize the intafada" means:

Two Jewish politicians trying to vilify Muslims, so it makes it acceptable to murder them. Let’s just tell it how it is.

Nailed it! People who support genocide are shameful! Palestinians deserve self rule in Gaza and the West Bank. They deserve to be safe in their homes and not rely on subsistence aid because someone has a boot on their necks!

Anyone sucking up to Ted Nugent - who has been well known as a total lunatic and an asshole for decades - is appalling.

Yes, we must.

And some of us are trying to, and are appalled at those who don't even give a shit about what's going on—like those Democrats who support Cuomo over Mandami, or who protect Bloodthirsty Bibi and damn every Palestinian for the actions of Hamas.

I wonder how they like it when people accuse ALL Americans of being anti-"Brown People" Bigots because...our country's leaders sure sound like it! Or at best, the responses hey offer are tepid and half-hearted, with a mere handful of exceptions.

I just emailed my senators, Adam Schiff and Alex Padilla, calling them out for not supporting Bernie Sanders' resolution to stop funding weapons for Israel. I don't understand it from Senator Padilla, especially, given his strong support for immigrants. It makes no sense. I like how you laid it out.

Congressman Fine indeed is an uncivilized racist and brute, governor Shapiro is an opportunistic, disgusting racist and hypocrite - a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and I concur he is the most dangerous man of the two. It’s high time the Democratic Party decides about its future identity, they have so many good politicians with a decent moral compass. That Bernie Sanders chose to be independent says a lot about the dip they are in.
