Few in corporate media or the political establishment will acknowledge it, but Mamdani's response to the hate he's received is the answer to fixing our broken politics
Thanks so much for your comments about Cuomo's sleazy attacks on Mamdani, and also, Sliwas's. I feel that Mamdani is a good person, which is relatively rare in today's politics.
I voted today, early voting. Affectionately, and 84 year old Quaker grandmother, in Manhattan.
I'm like Joe Friday. Just the facts, ma'am. And here they are:
"The Council on American-Islamic Relations, the country’s largest Muslim civil rights group, received more complaints of anti-Muslim incidents in 2023 than it has in any other year since it began recording cases 30 years ago.
The group received 8,061 complaints nationwide, according to a report published Tuesday, “Fatal: The Resurgence of Anti-Muslim Hate.” CAIR documented 5,156 complaints in 2022 and 6,720 in 2021, which was the previous record.
Nearly half of the 2023 complaints ― 3,578 ― were reported in the last three months of the year, which the report notes points to the war in Gaza as the primary driver behind the dramatic increase in anti-Muslim sentiment.
Muslim and Palestinian Americans have faced severe backlash. In Vermont, three Palestinian students were shot while on a walk, an incident the state’s attorney in Burlington called “a hateful act.” In Illinois, a 6-year-old Palestinian American boy was stabbed to death and his mother was hospitalized in a hate crime by their landlord, who was angered over the Israel-Hamas war. In February, a passerby attempted to rip away a Palestinian keffiyeh scarf hanging out of a car window and stabbed a Palestinian American man.
The wave of Islamophobia that has taken place since Oct. 7 is even greater than the one the U.S. saw after then-President Donald Trump implemented his Muslim travel ban in 2017.
The report notes that anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian racism is not synonymous with Islamophobia but says that “Muslim and Arab identities have long been conflated, particularly by those who seek to villainize both, making anti-Muslim hate part and parcel of anti-Arab, and specifically, anti-Palestinian racism.”
Islamophobia is not a real thing. People should legitimately fear an ideology which is the antithesis of American values. All one has to do is look at any western nation where Muslims now exceed 5% of the population, to see what happens if the west doesn’t open its eyes to nature of Islam
Islam solves America’s problems, as it has solved in all Arab Muslim countries - ideal for Islamists, none of you western apologists want to live there!
y his naturalized citizens oath he has to leave the country, just enforce the law. @Zohran Mamdani violated his right to be in America. Such ignorance going on.
Speaking up! You explain with such clarity. We just need people to keep reading and learning. I’m sick of all the racist hate speech… it’s all scared ignorance
It is most unfortunate that Mamdani is not only running against the lethal tide of ignorant anti Islamic hate. He is also having to run against those co-religionists who are lining up with their fellow despot, US President. Talk about a double whammy.
Given my druthers, I would vote for the candidate who actually tells you who he is, what he stands for and what he intends to do in office. Those who will not go on record, cannot be trusted. Period
Cuomo has never impressed me, but as he ages, he seems to get evermore decrepit. On the other hand, Mamdani shows a caring positivity that is very infectious. I really like what I've seen of him, & he supports some really good policies. He seems to be just what we need in our government.
Mamdani is an honest man. He will learn what he doesn’t know and have trustful aides. I am all in , he cares about people he doesn’t even know! Hey, Mamdani said that! My favorite quote !

Very well stated. Candidates who can't attack on facts, they provoke fear and instigate hate.
Qasim, your eloquence in writing this was only surpassed by your righteous passion. Thankyou, brother. 🙂✊🏼💙🤲🏼
OB1 he is NY's only hope and will stop NY’ bastardry and as an Islamist he will care about everyone.
Islam has a community conscience and cares for its peoples. He will do the same and has indicated this since day one.

I'm so sorry it's on the rise again. Please know, you are an asset to this country and the world. Keep rising above with love.

I really hope Mamdani wins! He’s not perfect—no one is—but he seems a good, smart, ethical young man.
