All due respect, the RIFL Act looks like the weakest of weak tea solutions to the overwhelming evil that is the gun industry. C’mon, they will locate “industry self-regulation” in their PR divisions.
I sent my emails. However, it was a bit frustrating that when making my own comments..the box to submit seemed to use ai to re-word it a bit. It’s easier, in my mind, when we can simply substitute what we want to say with our own choice of wording. Anyway, still good to have something prepped to go directly to our state rep and senator. 👍🏼
Isn't it amazing how when a gun is fired on another FLOOR in a building where Trump is present, we must all step up and fork over money to buy him a ballroom for protection. Meanwhile, classrooms of 20+ kids have been shot up...and...crickets. What selfish bastards.
Very good point. Now the republicons have hidden a provision for $3B for security for the ballroom into the latest budget reconciliation bill (per Heather Cox Richardson). Not enough money for SNAP, healthcare, biomedical research, etc., etc., etc., but we have enough for the ballroom security.
They are blatantly saying "F you" to the American people BECAUSE they're getting away with it!! No matter how polls slice it, he still has 35-40 % of the people supporting him. That number has really not fallen. I guess a third of the country loves being treated like s**t.
It is well past the time to severely restrict the sale and ownership of weapons of war in the hands of the public. Violent Australia was able to do it and their violent crime rate declined rapidly. Why not the USA?

Correction to this post. $1B in budget reconciliation for ballroom security. My mistake.

Or they like seeing other people treated like sxxt!

Is that a rhetorical question? We know why. Gun lobby and manufacturers padding the campaign funds of politicians.
Lucinda Ardern did it in New Zealand after a mass shooting that left 51 dead at two mosques in 2019.
