In 2022, my horrible mother died at 98. She left me some of the money that my father (just as awful) earned in his many years with The Ford Foundation, living overseas and being paid in USD, along with car and housing allowances (those of you we have traveled and lived out of the country, know what that means without me explaining it). He died in 1988. Although they caused me deep trauma, this money has changed my life.
I share as much as I can, and work to be kind. I don’t do this because I think I deserve a cookie or a gold star. I do it because it makes me feel better about the grave injustice that exists here and all over the world. Thank you, Qasim, for reminding me, once again, what that means. I made a small donation.

I have a question. I now live in the U.K. so don’t know if I can donate directly as I don’t have a credit card (people rely more on debit cards here, it seems). I still have an active U.S. checking account as that’s where my social security checks are sent, so I could transfer funds from there, but I imagine I’d need something like a bank account number. Any suggestions?
I think you are doing an amazing job and to me, you are a hero, and very brave. I’m nearly deaf myself and absolutely understand how debilitating it is, especially for children. I’m lucky that I was able to afford hearing aids and they’ve made a huge difference in my life.
