It appears that Mc Lauren is possibly a MAGA plant. I have noticed that many people follow the most convenient news because research and logic is such a burden on them.👀
I'm not a voter in America but I'd still like to add my two cents worth. Georgia has been gerrymandered I understand that. Yet the people who will vote anyway will not be able to get past the idea that electing a brown or black person is a no-no! It's not right, it's not decent, it's a fact. Integrity is not something you can even rely on anymore. As Eric Swalwell demonstrated. Even thought the democratic members KNEW what he was up to, nobody called him out! There's nothing to be done but clean out the swamp, not add to it as little dick has done. Your PACS won't be deterred just because some of the people they want to buy won't accept their money. What's needed is the people saying ENOUGH IS ENOUGH not just in one State but in every State. If you don't then authoritarianism like Stephen Millers kind is always going to rear it's ugly head.
My God, Qasim, this article is solid gold. More succinct and truer words were never spoken. In the name of "the success of the State!" some governors bulldoze harmful policies/decisions down the voters' throats. We're supposed to sacrifice our health, our land because these corporations (who care NOTHING about us) are good for the State! This is exactly why people like Zohran Mamdani are treated like lepers. God help the cookie-cutter politicians when people start to see that it is possible for politicians to work for the good of the people. If we get enough Mamdanis in office, the "gaslighters" are going to be put out of work.
Shabanna Mahmood was the first Muslim woman to serve as uk state secretary for justice and later home secretary. Much was made of this. "First Muslim woman" and all that.
Before assuming her role, she was a strong supporter of Palestine and refugees. As soon as it became clear that the price of power was support of Israel and crackdowns on immigration, she turned 180 degrees, supporting increasingly draconian restrictions on protest and freedom of speech and restrictions on immigration.
Why do I bring this up, when it has nothing to do with Nabilah Parkes?
1. IdPol box checking is no substitute for character.
2. Nothing good comes of either establishment party, as both sort strongly against character in for careerism. Either you follow the party line or get pushed aside. Works the same in the uk as in the US.
Nabilah has been elected to multiple terms of state senator and has been unwavering in her principles. And she maintains those same principles as she runs for higher office. She’s led by example. I trust her because she’s proven trustworthy, not because she checks an identity box.

Thank you for this. I’m in Georgia and will vote asyou recommended.
Integrity is lacking by far too many who currently serve and disregard the Constitution. Equally, they typically lack morals and
scruples.
Georgia we need y'all....again... thanks
McLaurin might as well have “AIPAC” tattooed across his forehead.
The lady has years of credibility. Georgians have voted for her again and again. I'm heartened to read that.

Like Mamdani I truly hope Nabilah Parkes wins. The tide is turning little by little and I think Ms. Parkes can do so much to help this along!!!!
Amen to that.

I don't live in Georgia anymore, but appreciate you writing this. Let's do this!
