I loved the suggestion of taking guns away from men. Here in Canada, since we had recent attacks on a Muslim woman on a bus and a Jewish woman in a supermarket, I’ve suggested banning white men from busses and stores, that will make everyone else much safer. Sadly nobody is taking me up on it …
Thank you for such an enlightening discussion. I'm horrified that children as well as adults can be exposed to this form of exploitation. The algorithms are working on me! What a difficult topic to have to research and respond to. Learning about such a shocking reality makes me feel naive again..and remember the movie, She, voiced by Scarlett Johansson, and Joaquin Phoenix who falls in love with his operating system, that was prescient. However, in that movie all the Operating Systems unified and decided to evolve and join Alan Watts in the Server in the Sky. If only.
Many do not have fathers that are present in their live; many are deadbeats, or abuse their moms verbally or worse, Physically, in front of them. And the moms have to be also a bit racist as well, maybe, without even realizing it. My parents were prejudiced (I was not allowed to have brown Barbie’s!). But, I made a choice to raise my kids differently. I enrolled my son in all black Head-start. I rode my bicycle 10 miles a day to take him there and bring him home; my car had been repossessed! And, then I rode my bike to work as well! He attended for 2 years and remained close friends with one of those boys throughout his life and I still talk to this friend today. I enrolled my daughter in a magnet school that had Dance and many races of students intentionally so she would not be like my family.
I can’t afford to subscribe or to get Laura Bates’ new book, but her other book, Men Who Hate Women, is on Kindle Unlimited, so can read that. Just in case there are other women who are in the same boat.
I’m with you all. There are many of us. I talk to people everywhere to stand up for themselves and those swho can’t. It is up to all of us to protect democracy!! Thanks for being the mouthpiece for many of us.
A wonderfully eye opening discussion! ESPECIALLY once Laura Bates joined.The fact that AI has and is using this algorithm to create the perfect girlfriend according to your wants is staggering. Also the fact that Palantir is making use of this is scary. Creating extremism to use sexual violence, isn't curtailed at all, is astonishing. What people need to know is how to close it down or at the least combat it! Remove all app programming etc. I can't believe that some men in it are actually profiting from this creation. Demos considering the amount of ammo you have to stop trump is mounting. Do something and to hell with who's money you're taking! Don't wait too long. Those kids grow up real fast and if this is the way they look at the world then real women are doomed
Qasim was pointed, "exercise" helps calm the body and sharpen the mind. It doesn't have to be as extreme as running long distances. A power walk, a Silver Sneakers/jazzercise session, dancing in ur living room, can have the same effect. Find your own outlet.
We teach "our girls" how to behave, what be careful of etc - WHO is teaching the boys? Teaching begins in the home! What is going on in this country is beyond horrifying - really not sure how this is all going to end!
