As a longtime Post subscriber, I have to say they have fired their best columnist for simply telling the truth as the readers have told it freely in Comments. If they have to fire someone, we could do without Marc Thiessen. Commenters dislike Thiessen so much that I suspect he is now hiding behind "From the Editorial Board" so people will read it!

They need a conservative voice of course, but they have George Will. He's a traditional conservative, not MAGA, and the world needs more of those. He makes a lot of sense.

Qasim,

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Karen being interviewed by you yesterday, especially given how easy on the eyes she is. Her success, both in the dojo and in her journalism career, is a testament to the apothegm “In the warrior’s code, there’s no surrender.”

It is sad to observe how much the once revered Washington Post has deteriorated into such a tenth-rate rag under its good-for-nothing owner, Jeff Bezos.

And it would not shock me in the least if the rot at The Post is so profound that, in the not so distant future, it goes belly up much like The Washington Star did back in 1981.

Regarding “ideological purity tests,” there is going to have to be a balance among Americans who identify as “progressives” between demanding perfection from candidates running for elected office and having no lines in the sand, so to speak.

The same is true when deciding what publications and cable television networks to subscribe to and even with whom to associate and hang out. I struggle with this concept every day and spend more time thinking about it than anything else.

I opted to not renew my annual membership to the American Legion until its National Commander denounces Trump for incessantly trashing the United States Constitution.

And I recently decided to break ties with my brother due to his support for Trump and his draconian immigration policies. Of course, if he renounces his support for Trump and his cruel immigration policies, I would happily be willing to rekindle our relationship.

I had the opportunity today on a Washington Post editorial to ask why there was no black opinion instead of Geroge Will's old white man opinion of "both sides do it"

I will do that with every opinion piece written in the Post until I learn there is a black voice there to give a different viewpoint.

So many important points and thoughts from both of you. The rebel forces are building strength and beauty to countermand white wing evil.

Je me revolte, donc nous somme .. I revolt because we are! Karen, your warrior spirit is connected to the collective warrior spirit. Your struggle is for "we, the people" not I, the Diminisher of ... (beauty, freedom, art, expression, human rights, nature .. they're reducing / removing them all). We are with you! Every small or larger thing we do every day makes a difference.

Do they really think their misogynistic racism isn’t showing? I guess lifting this invisible veil would be too straightforward on their part. Sue, baby, Sue! I know a good civil rights attorney named Qasim Rashad!

Thank you for hosting Karen Attiah. She is such an inspirational thinker and communicator. I loved that both of you focused on coalition and collaboration. We absolutely need to work with all who are leaning to our side if we are to reach the 3.5% (and more!) that we know is necessary to disrupt tyranny. Karen is amazing and I know she will land on her feet!

Yes, it is horrible and scary. We need to be brave, and if we cannot be brave, we must be kind.

Loved the end. “We will talk about whiteness”. I sure hope it also evolves into things like privilege, because I feel like people (regardless of background or race) sometimes tend to gravitate towards the financial benefits of whiteness without even realizing it, because it is systemically ingrained in environment, religion, & how they were raised.

As in, they follow whiteness because they want that $$$ too. I’ve had to work with corrupt people with this very ideology here in SW Mississippi.

Karen, I am glad you are fighting back! The Washington Post (& bezos) do not deserve to have someone with your astute background!

First Amendment still applies in this country (for the moment). You were exercising your free speech! On top of that i think you have a "wrongful termination" suit & possibly "breach of contract". Good luck - the truth is on your side!🙏🏻☮️💙
