ACLU DC's Scott Michelman on qualified immunity and federal accountability for ICE killings, and Nikki Porcher on her run for Georgia Labor Commissioner
The Constitutional Accountability Act is a bill we should do all we can to get it passed, no matter how long it takes. Ms. Nikki Porcher sounds like she has the right experience and good sense to be Labor Commissioner for the state of Georgia- I hope she wins.
Ms Porcher strikes me as cross between a Keynsian economist and a social democrat. At my age it is good to see old ideas being resurrected, patched up and sent out to once again do battle.
Why does USA support Settler violence to continue to threaten and harm long standing Palestinian families and communities on the West Bank? Answer: Can we get away with it here in the USA to expell or "erase" those we do not like living or sharing with? Will it fly in the USA? Practicing techniques since Reconstruction, we have tried militarization and violent actions against citizens and visitors. When local police begin changing its work against the local folks we do not like, we begin using Federal forces. USA Crime rates down and cannot overfill prisons and jailS? Let's lock up the newer arrivals. Worried about the color of most voters and their growing sway over Congress? If you cannot buy Congress Members, take over the powers they hold under the rules ( Constituation law), try to take over the Courts, expecially the highest Courts. Any of this sound familiar? If people won't follow the rules of law and take law into their own hands, you have to have a government that will do this for you, Could we, the people, become the force that blocks Genocide in the USA? We have not done so for the Indigenous people here, in the past. We won't tolerate it now AND will stop all USA government forces from doing it now. Even ICE.
