You are more correct than you know. I was raised in a Christian Nationalist family who no longer speak to me. They believe it is God's will to bring about the end of the world in order to usher end the return of Jesus.
I was active in the anti-nuke movement back in the 1980's There was a plan to build a Home Port in the New York Harbor in Staten Island. The stance of the government was they would neither confirm nor deny the presence of nuclear warheads on the ships. We were able to stop the Home Port through an active presence of protest. It is sickening that this is where it is now, especially with a madman at the helm.

Whomever said “Oy vey” - thank you. My grandmother used to say that when she didn’t know what she really wanted to say. Many times that just meant she understood the situation, but felt like she “didn’t have an answer at the moment” and would put the problem aside in her head, but get up and go about the necessary things she had to do. That’s what I’m trying to do now. It’s hard, but I think of her strength to carry on and am trying also.

Thought all of our efforts in the Anti-Nuke movement were heeded. The outcome hasn't improved in the world after all. Grew up in DC, Ground Zero.
