Thank you for this, Qasim. I used to live in OR where most people care enough to srive for a small footprint on this temporarily borrowed majestic planet. The idea that we have to litigate its survival testifies to the money worship and greed that have no end but more of the same at the expense of everyone. I guess it has always been this way. That is certainly no excuse. WTF is wrong with people. I just donated.

Thank you Qasim, this issue strikes close to my heart. We need mass awareness of what we will lose. He destroys all that is sacred, all that is dear.

The amount of damage one man continues to unleash - now since this article we have seen the go ahead for deep sea mining.. this earth is merely resource for him and his kind, not source - for those of us who know 'her' this way .

Trimp considers anything East of the Mississippi that isn't a golf course "Wasteland".

Oligarchs of every stripe encourage his ignorance because they stand to profit.

We would be nothing without nature. He destroys everything for a profit and many who could stop him are complicit. It’s staggering. The lawlessness and greed.

In the Amazon they believe in the earth mother. I believe in the earth mother. Without her we cannot sustain life. However, it seems the culture sees her as a commodity for profit only. Everything in on and living on the earth is to be exploited for profit and used for only the benefit of humanity. This comment will offend many, but I state my case anyway. Humans aren’t anything but parasites congratulating themselves for their own existence.

Actually, I know what the Roadless Rule is, and have signed many emails to my Congressional Reps and petitions OVER YEARS, but with all the environmental groups contacting me, I didn't realize that Earthjustice was the main one combatting to keep this Rule. I'll have to send them money. It is super important that we keep the trees, the old growth forests, which keep the air clean. trump doesn't care a whit about anything except what will make money in the short term.

Earthjustice is wonderful and as you say, they are often all that stands between us and terrible environmental actions by various entities. I am proud to support them regularly and I encourage your readers to as well!

I have supported Roadless Classification for years and am so grateful you have taken this stance. We also need to drive Trump and his minions out of office and, hopefully, into prison. I had so hoped James' ruling would have had the orange man behind bars permanently but he's like a snake, always slithering in and out and hard to nail down, crawling in one hole or another.

Thanks for this Qasim. With trump spouting in inanities right left and centre, people need to know what really matters. A planet, in order to survive needs to be taken care of. The indigenous people knew this. That's why the land was preserved under strict conditions when it came to fishing or deforestation. They may not have had science on their side but they definitely knew about survival and what it takes. The wholesale destruction that trump is allowing will speed up an already unsustainable planet ecologically. Ignore it at your peril!

Last week our pastor preached on Psalm 104 which recognizes the interconnectedness of earth, sky, sun, wind, moon, and both flora and fauna. It deserves respect or we will all perish.

Scientists are saying it may be too late to save coral reefs now. The tipping point has been reached. If the sea dies, so will we.

Absolutely. I wish corporate media would, but no clicks or profit in climate justice unfortunately.

You bring in roads to wilderness areas & it is the beginning of the end. It is like the old song, “they paved paradise & put up a parking lot.”

Having been a child of Wyoming I am well aware of the roadless rule. I protects pristine forests. But on occasion it can regard fire fighting. But fires are how the forest renews itself.

I'm not sure how we take them back when Republicans are doing everything they can think of to rig the elections. And they're doing it right in front of us, too
