Thank you so much for the abbreviated CRT, the objective truth. Centuries of the back hand by white America. To know and acknowledge this factual summation should be required for EVERY American, but mostly for white people. The only way to break this reoccurring nightmare is to have the future perps get a swirly of the real thing. The current crop of bigots just put their fingers in their ears and Humm, can't handle the truth. I hope this article goes far and wide across America, as it is an overdue start for some and a deep breath to others.

historically, white people discriminated against all immigrants, regardless of color. We have never been a welcoming country. Listen to the immigrant stories of Swedish, Norwegian, Irish, Polish, eastern European, Portuguese, Italian etc. They were never welcomed when they first arrived. It may not have been as obvious as with those of darker skin but it was still there. Americans welcoming any immigrants with open arms is a myth. A lovely myth. But still a myth.

Thank you. From now on this will be the structure of my response to conscious and unconscious advocates of white privilege. But they’re so far gone, it may be a waste. Many skipped junior high school civics class!

Racism and bigotry are deplorable and it begins in the home. My son is suffering with trying to correct what is being taught by his ex-wife, and ex-in-laws, to his 4 year old daughter. I wish that the minute children were exposed to school, whether it is pre-school or kindergarten, that there would be mandatory teaching to undo what is learned at home, and it would be an across the country requirement. Of course, first we have to remove the biggest racist and bigoted government ever to exist.

It all goes back to slavery. (Actually it goes back further than that but let's just start there.)

I worked for the state parks system in California. It was the Joss House, a Chinese temple of worship from the gold rush in Weaverville California. I learned the history of the Chinese who came to this country, and in this history, they made them swim out to sea and drown. There is so much more to tell that is horrific, but perhaps you should know it hasn’t stopped. Where I worked, the Calvary Chapel thought it should be burned down. Forgot to add, it is a state historic park.

How would you feel about approaching a conservative and ask them to provide a counterpoint? It might be valuable to hear how someone opposed to your thinking, but is articulate and knowledgeable, addresses the issues you have presented. I have a hard time believing that the half of the population that supports Trump is so uneducated and misinformed that everything you say does not register.

Professor Jonathan Metzer did just that. He wrote a great book about it called "Dying of Whiteness." Turns out that many of these conservatives in white rural parts of the country believe such expansion of healthcare etc would make us "communist" or "socialist," while they themselves don't see the irony of accepting those benefits. The first link I link at the start of this piece is the history of racism in the thought process.

I have noticed this. The culture that shows the most anger against providing any sort of social safety net are the white folk who use it. They think, 'I have the privilege to use it because I am white, but 'f' anyone of color to use it 'cuz they don't deserve it!' I swear, the closer they are economically to the poverty level and the more they use our social safety nets, the harder they are on people of color in the same boat. I don't get it. Maybe this is their pathetic way to one-up another and to feel better than.
