Why is cruelty ALWAYS the point?

Thank you Qasim , as always, for the work you do and the word that you spread. It's beyond important.

Could not be more disgusted by SCOTUS and the cruelty of our “leaders.” My heart is broken for the many, many people who are affected by the loss of TPS, for those who have been harmed by Monsanto and gun violence, and for the asylum seekers whose hopes are dashed. I will not be celebrating the 4th or the 250th anniversary. I am ashamed of our government. But I will keep showing up for vulnerable people in our community because it’s the one tangible way we can fight back.

Judges who violate their oath of office by violating clear legal rights should be immediately removed.

Thank you Qasim for these very comprehensive reviews. You have a way of helping the average Joe to understand.

The amount of cruelty in this world is revolting. Thank you for your dedication!

At least one South African "asylum seeker" has said "I'm going home. I feel safer in South Africa." He's probably also relatively wealthier.

Thank you for putting these together. These all trouble me so, but the refugees in Springfield Ohio are my countrymen now. So sad.

Thank you for sitting down and talking about all of this in detail, really. Or legacy media coverage on this (and every other important thing, it seems) is spotty, and some of us are working so much that we barely have a chance to really sit down and digest the news some weeks. I check back in after a week of busting my ass and I find that the Supreme Court, once again, did some utterly -heinous- shit. And even worse is there are people cheering it on!

Honestly just driving around for work and seeing so many American flag decorations up and talk about the fourth of July coming up and the "250th Anniversary" of a country that is backsliding into the worst parts of its past (but I guess that's what happens when things aren't fully addressed in the first place) - I feel sick to my stomach.

Thank you for keeping on top of this as usual, I know it can't be fun for you either. I hope you're taking care of yourself, and I hope your family is well, Qasim. I wish I had something less depressing to add, but we'll keep on fighting.

Thank you for this piece. I appreciate the concise explanations for those of us who are not fluent in "legalese." I was surprised to see that the two dissenters in the Monsanto case were Justices Jackson and Gorsuch.

The SCOTUS NAZI 6.

So an invitation to ICE or Proud Boys to brandish guns at polling places.

Everyday she should be asked if she's leaving with the children.

This is a FACIST CHRISTIAN MALE run country now, OFFICIALLY.

Anyone who's rejoicing these decisions are the ones that should be deported.

Wish Devil's Island still existed just for Racist Rat Faced Miller.

If guns provide so much safety, why arent they allowed in the Supreme Court hearings open to the public or wherever they give lectures. Surely Thomas and Alito would've object to everyone in the front row having a loaded musket

This quote: “And then there is this: Supreme Court Justice Amy Corey Barrett has two Black Haitian children who she adopted. Today she ruled to expel 700,000 Haitians who were here legally.”

This speaks to how some whites view some “favored” Black and Brown people as their pets as in animal pets. I never forget that the “forced breeding” that took place during chattel slavery in the Americas was often identical to the breeding methods used in animal husbandry.

I never forget that President Andrew Jackson who was known and celebrated for being an “Indian killer” and who signed the Indian Removal Act into law in 1930 managed to adopt a little “Native American” kid. The whole notion of non-white people/s being nothing more than pets drives all of this.

Sounds like the judges are working for the "Project 2025". They don't want to be made useless. They have to follow orders.

This is one of your most important and heartbreaking articles, Qasim. I'm so happy you mentioned the SS St. Louis tragedy, which I doubt many people know about. It defines the term "cold-hearted". I've read so many people on sm talking about returning to the "American Way" and this is "unAmerican". No, what we're seeing now is very much "the American way" on steroids. Not according to our Constitution, but according to centuries of fact. If people think voting for progressives like Zohran Mamdani is radical, scary, then they are NOT truly seeing and hearing the FACTS of the REAL SCARY shit going on around them in our government and courts. Because someone said it on TV, radio or in the newspaper does NOT mean it is fact. Propaganda exists in America too.

I didn't know about it or why asylum came about. I have some homework to do!

The St Louis went up the entire coast from Cuba to New England--no one would take those people and they returned to Europe and most died in the Holocaust. It is sad and angering beyond belief. You know, Jewish businessmen in NYC wrote to Roosevelt asking him NOT to take any more Jewish refugees, as they would reflect badly on Jews already in the country. Talk about man's inhumanity to man.

I fully expect the White Supremacist Majority to nullify (in the confederate sense) birth right citizenship. This will be the wrecking ball to the 14th amendment, the foundation of all civil rights laws.

Was in a very low mood yesterday, after all 4 rulings. No asylum? -- isn't that international law? It is beyond egregious, that "supposedly" our SUPREME justices, have such low moral character. I suppose I forgot that Barrett had adopted 2 Haitian children! Are they on the list to be deported? ALL these people to Haiti and Syria will be killed by their governments, once home, for having the temerity to flee to the U.S. And this is just the beginning in TPS to be deported!

And corporations won again! Monsanto (Bayer) has been poisoning people with Round-Up for decades. And Hawaii "trying" for safety in public places -- shot down by the 2nd Amendment AGAIN!

A low day in freedom-loving America. After Nov election, S.C. must be second on the list, voting rights being first, to be changed! Term limits, and presidents only being allowed to appoint 2 in his term. At least one impeachment, and Kavanaugh, a true investigation into why the FBI did not follow through on their investigation of him. DISGUST is only one emotion I have.

It is shameful. We have lost control of our once semi sane nation.
