This is imperative and has to be operationalized to protect all in Blue states, and offer haven to the oppressed from the Red.

1. A New Continental Congress, for a challenge no less than the unrepresentstive tyranny of George III. The NCC to be comprised of elected Democratic officers with policy authority in Blue States- Governors, AGs, Lt.Gs, Sec-States etc. They will coordinate state sovereignty protections to the their people and rights shredded by the Federal Government, defend their rights and sue lawless regime actions, establishing a -

2. Blue Archipelago of state policies where rights are protected, progressive policies are reciprocally passed in human rights, benefits, repealing tax evasion of the parasitic theft-based wealthy, and offering refuge to prejudicially fired officials and rights-deprived populations.

I’m all for that actually. The fact that tens of millions of people voted for this man after what he did on January 6, and since is bewildering to me. I would be more than happy for the blue states to have our own president have our own tax systemand let the red state do their thing.

Ironic that the Republican Party has finally made their strongest case for states’ rights by violating the constitution, their oaths of office, the declaration of independence and America’s sense of decency.

Loyal Americans need to exercise every lever of power available to thwart this overt effort at fascism.

At a bare minimum, if states aren’t receiving federal funds, they should not be sending any money to DC. New York and California alone doing that could shut this shit down quick!

Not sure if this is already in the comments but the clearest apparent path to soft secession is just getting Democratic legislators on board with cutting the federal government and federal taxes. Think how easily that would go if you convinced even a fraction of Democrats to join Republicans. Blue states could then simply increase their taxes commensurately to fund priorities that most of the public wants: support for the poor, funding for schools, scientific research, etc. And red states can do nothing if they want.

This is the kind of heresy the Founders would’ve toasted with whiskey. You can only pledge allegiance to a corpse for so long before conscience demands resurrection. Soft secession isn’t rebellion; it’s CPR for a democracy that flatlined on greed.

Yes! Yes! I keep wondering why blue states have not done this!! Is there something you think is stopping them that we can help advocate for, Qasim?

It seems like we have not focused enough on how red states are getting federal funds for their projects and natural disasters but nothing for the blue states. This is first I can remember a sitting President said I hate Democrats. I’m going to make them suffer. We might as well do a soft secession and take care of our own blue states

I’m sorry, but you haven’t thought this through at all. States don’t make tax payments to the federal government, individuals and businesses do. If you want to prevent feds from getting Illinois residents’ and businesses’ tax dollars, you need to convince individual taxpayers in Illinois to eliminate their withholding and stop paying taxes in violation of federal law. Which means you have a collective action problem. How many wealthy taxpayers and businesses (the bulk of revenue comes from the wealthy) are going to risk federal prosecution because their governor asked them to?

If passed, what's the possibility for an influx of MAGA poor moving to these blue states?

Not much. They'll be too poor to afford the housing. Many are too poor to afford it in the low-paying "Red" states already.

The first step to soft secession is to prevent the federal government from being able to take money from the States' bank accounts unauthorized.

I just hope people know/remember not to abandon blue dots stuck in red states. Especially non-white, queer, trans, intersex and disabled people who are just as outraged (who tried to stop this all) just unluckily stuck in red states… Underground Railroad V2 will likely need to be underway, especially since I have a bad feeling interstate travel will be barred once this ^^^ begins. Don’t forget or abandon the blue dots.

I can even imagine, now, passenger airliners crossing over Red states being shot down by belligerent Republican military units "left behind" in the Red states. Republicans had set the stage for this totalitarian takeover for a half-century. I saw it coming by 1983. (Few others could even imagine this would become our reality unless we took firm actions to prevent it.) The Government Overthrow Party is determined to close the deal at this point, at any cost to the "rabble" they hold in total contempt.
