If people have basics in life, food, housing, medical, schooling…they are happy to produce and contribute to society. Crime and resentment would go down. It makes so much sense to implement UBI when one person thinks he’ll achieve a hoarding level of $TRILLION.
The other career that should NOT be an option is physical therapy. PT school now costs $160,000 to $200,000 for 7 years of schools.
I know PTs who graduated 12-15 years ago that are raising their kids in 1 and 2 bedroom apartments because they cannot buy a house due to the education debt.
I was one of the many PTs who fought against this and pushed for congress to keep reimbursements stable. We did not get either of our wishes. And the nasty intersection is what is going on today: not enough PTs because school is too expensive and reimbursements decline significantly every year.
