Where do we go from here? We make sure to arrest the musk man before the mid terms, otherwise we will see the full weight of a weaponized congress-both houses- drop on us like a ton of bricks. There is no containing the evil that has attached to this administration. We need to take the hint from Albania, no work, no buy, nothing but people in the streets until we restore democracy in THIS country. We must remove Citizens United from tyranny of the wealthy mega donors over everyone else. We need to institute common sense to regain our self respect. The status quo ain't cutting it right now.
Sadly I truly believe that having more black and brown babies and mothers die was what many on the right were hoping would happen. After all, many of them believe in white supremacy and the "Great Replacement" conspiracy. That more white babies and mothers are also dying is just collateral damage. (If more white men were dying, that would be different.) And, of course, the women and babies most impacted are poor. After all, rich white women have the means to go to blue states for care. This administration has proven beyond any doubt that they care nothing about poor people, as long as they continue to vote Republican.
None of this has anything to do with protecting helpless unborns or protecting women. Just like Trump's drooling over blondes and grabbing pussies has nothing to do with love, attraction, or pleasure. All of it is part of the same coin: control, domination and humiliation of women. No love, protection or care involved.
These ppl must not have kids/ girls or granddaughters that will have to endure this and i can't believe the women on this panel voted for this but hey why should they care they're all dried up inside now so they don't give a shit what young women are going thru... let me just say this FK SCOTUS I hope your peckers fall off and your vaginas turn to dust... hateful biaches!
But we’ve seen from that awful woman in Florida that as well as using her contacts to get the treatment she needed she had no compunction in blaming “liberals” for the medics’ hesitation in providing it.
Were it her daughter she would doubtless do the same thing because if is never their fault.
Thank you yet again for continually being an advocate we can count on every single time. The fact that this is a topic in the United States of America in 2026 boggles the mind. It infuriates me and makes me cry. That said, I'd like to take the opportunity to tell all women on here that live in the south, I'm in Virginia, and we are the only safe haven for reproductive care in the south. If you or anyone you care about ever finds themself in the position to need help here, please reach out to me. I will do everything in my power to help. I see a DSP whose primary concerns are to provide affordable reproductive services to women and trans care. They are doing wonderful things in this hostile environment.
We have to be the change and help our sisters, because we obviously can't depend on the powers that be.
These so-called christians make me extremely angry. HOW DARE they try to impose their beliefs on we who do not share them! Our bodies are none of their business, full stop.
So, babies are dying of congenital defects after being born instead of being aborted before they are born. They died either way. Mortality isn't higher, it's just at a different point on the time-line. It looks higher because abortion didn't count as infant mortality.
I did wonder about that-it might account for some of the increased infant mortality, although there are other reasons the US has high infant mortality (no national healthcare access and high poverty). However I know someone whose fetus died and she had to have an abortion in Wisconsin, and another who was hemorrhaging when five months pregnant (and a Catholic) who had an abortion. The first woman would have been required to continue her pregnancy to deliver a dead baby and the second might have died while the doctor had to get legal advice about whether they could abort a doomed pregnancy under the laws now in effect in Texas and other states. There are documented cases of women bleeding out in hospitals where the doctors wouldn't provide care out of fear of prosecution. And OB-GYNs have fled states with restrictive abortion laws so the women in those (mainly rural) states have even less access to healthcare including prenatal care
words matter. it’s higher because there’s more death now. you abort a fetus, not an infant. infant mortality doesn’t include abortion, you have to be delivered and draw a breath before being classified as an infant.
What about poor disabled or other abled or high risk pregnancy? 💜 Watch , If The Walls Could Talk, a wonderful movie with Cher, Anne Heche, Sissy Spacek, Demi Moore
Sorry, it's hard for me to follow in places. Roe was a court case in the 1970s, is that right? So is post-Roe a reference to the situation after that case, or after the overturning of the case? What is an OBGYN? The chart shows a legend with an asterisk, but I cannot see where the asterisk refers to.
However, these readability issues aside, the tenor seems to be:
"Can we deport black women and their children?" - Yes, some of them we can.
"Can we confine black women and their children?" - Again, some of them we can.
"Can we kill black women and their children?" - Not as easily as we'd like to, but we have the means at our disposal.
An OBGYN is a physician specialising in pregnancy and childbirth. “Post Roe” refers, I believe, to the time since the U.S. supreme court overturned “Roe vs. Wade” which established the right to abortion.
Sorry, but I can’t believe I’m typing this because you are presumably an educated adult American man and I thought you all knew about such things.
Thanks for your cogent summary of where we find ourselves. It’s not helped when democratic operatives demand that “both sides“ be respected in this “debate“. Ironically, now that they’ve outlawed abortion it’s obvious why it should never have been made illegal and that it’s a health issue not a “ moral” issue. By the way, sadly Planned Parenthood is endorsing many of the wrong candidates in recent primaries.

Do the red states completely deny reproductive healthcare? Or just abortions/abortion related?

I wasn't addressing inadequate miscarriage care. That is inexcusable. I was addressing bait and switch statistics.

It's still the same individual being that died.

Fuck these bastards, equal rights for women now

the comment was jarring to read, for sure. The internet has taught me never to underestimate how real seemingly unbelievable comments can be.
Very true.
I am an educated Belgian man, but I thank you for your explanations.
I’m sorry for my incorrect assumption. I myself am a moderately educated old British woman who lived in the U.S. for 57 years.
