They don't mean birthright citizens, they mean the citizens from the countries that they don't like. They're not even trying to hide it.

Trump is the one who shouldn't keep his citizenship.

He's against immigrants and yet he marries an immigrant woman? He's against in-mail voting and yet he does it in Florida? He's not a president! He's a fascist, a bully, and a liar who thinks he can do whatever he wants on our dime while the rest of us get nothing!

The man is hypocrisy personified. His picture should be in the dictionary next to the word.

Thank you Qasim and thank you ACLU for fighting to protect birthright citizenship. The 14th amendment couldn't read any clearer. President-King Donald has to learn to protect the law and that he can't overturn it on his say-so. Plus Congress GOP members have to remember where their spines are hidden, inject some steel and take back their powers.

Amen! And thank you for the work that you do!

I wonder why I didn't see these lights on mainstream media?

Thanks for sharing that shot Qasim-my name is somewhere in there too, and undoubtedly many, if not all of us here!. That ignoramus waste of oxygen is going to get his ass handed to him on this one! 👏🏾👏🏾

Thank you for literally recording your name on the right side of history!

The language of the 14th Amendment should be clear enough that an infant from Venus riding a flying rhinoceros could understand, which is why it angers me so that 🍊 and his advisors cannot. That, and the fact that I wouldn’t be here without it either (shhhh). Hey Qasim! Thanks for all you do! ☮️

Unrelatedly, I would like to see said flying rhinoceros.

I’m curious, So does Trump even think he can win these arguments w/the courts that he flings out there ? Are the Trump “brain trust” whispering in his ear to push these moves even knowing they will lose??

Qasim Rashid, Esq.'s avatar

He thinks he can bully SCOTUS enough to make it happen, and the scary part is enough likely already agree with him.

You walk the talk, Qasim. It’s why we love you. “Ahead of oral arguments, I partnered with the ACLU to call on Americans to sign the ACLU’s petition reaffirming what we have always known—that no president has the authority to redefine who is or isn’t a citizen.”

Grateful for your support, Debra. ❤️✊🏽

Thanks for this update Qasim. America btw isn't the only country to have birthright citizenship. I was born on a British Army Battalion base in Austria. I could was told I could legally obtain dual citizenship with England and Austria. Years later I married a Canadian and moved with him to Canada and was told that through marriage I could obtain Canadian citizenship. I chose to remain British in both instances. Yet the choice was there. America seems to believe that they are the only ones who allow this! This is not just an American situation and people should understand that probably most countries in the world adhere to birthright citizenship as well as citizenship through marriage! The only difference in American terms is that they only want WHITE people to qualify. My dad was white British and my mum was East Indian. So tell those MAGA idiots to stick that in their pipe and smoke!

Because Americans in general are very provincial and don't have a clue about what goes on in the rest of the world. I'm an American ex-pat of 15 years, living in the 'developing world' and I still get questions from people, who should know better, about the 'risk'. About access to healthcare (much better and cheaper and more humane here). About all sorts of silly things that only Americans would be clueless about.

VEE LAVALLEE's avatar

I’ve found that too. Maybe it’s because Hollywood has conditioned the American people to think of themselves as the best of the best. To look outside of that assumption is to them pointless. I wish people that can’t afford to travel would have the outlet to get information on a more personal level. When I was a kid who travelled with our father as an army brat we had penpals in different countries. Maybe that idea could be reinstated again. One on one works as a start. Then you tell somebody and they tell somebody…before you know it you have a more realistic impression of who people REALLY are and what their lives are really like.

We all know what the rash of detention centers is about. He'll start concentration-camping anyone who does not worship him--then send them to god-knows-where. That's the plan.

I believe in defending birthright citizenship. But I would like to understand what a 'mandate' is. As Trump was elected with 30% of the eligible vote, we say that does not give him a mandate. But when 0.1% of the eligible vote have signed a petition, that is a mandate?

Trump is the one who doesn't belong here!

Agreed, he doesn't represent us or our interests

Had Trumps immigrant brothel keeping grandfather not chosen to settle in the wild west, he might, indeed have been kicked out of the US for "moral turpitude" before he had a chance to produce "anchor babies" in his lifetime. He unfortunately passed his moral turpitude on to succeeding generations with no apparent end in sight.
