The Democratic Party establishment—particularly those in congress—continues to prove that it is not prepared to meet this dire moment in the history of our nation. They have failed us, time and time and time again—and are now flagrantly betraying the Party and its principles in attacking Mamdani, AOC, and other progressives. They remain beholden to their highly paid DC consultants, incapable of responding to the existential threats we are facing without first resorting to their poll-tested and focus group approved messaging. With the exception of a few truly genuine leaders (Sanders, Murphy, Warren, Raskin, Stansbury, Jim McGovern, AOC, Crockett, Casar, and a few others), They’ve absolutely lost all credibility and authenticity. We don’t need the goddam “Joe Rogan of the Left.”

Establishment dems are far more interested in the relentless pursuit of fund raising than actually confronting the myriad crises we are facing, and it’s pathetic. Schumer, Jeffries, Pelosi, Clyburn, Dingel, et al., …times have changed—politics have changed. Step aside and let the new generation lead. If you would actually fight this authoritarian backsliding, and put your constituents ahead of your big donors, the American people would support you. But because you remain indentured to your big money donors, and fail to open your eyes to the imminent threats we are facing, you don’t fight. You do your carefully choreographed performances on the house and senate floor, once it’s too late for them to have any meaning.

And regarding Mamdani, you better recognize what the people are telling you, and stop trying to undermine him and the other promising candidates who are the future of this party.

I’m praying that Mamdani wins to break this paralysis the Democratic Party is afflicted with. Yet, it reminded me of something Black journalist Tony Brown said over two decades ago: “If your leaders actually needed you, they would never sell you out.”
