I don’t know much but I do know if a bunch of racists claim they are doing something for not racist reasons whatever they are doing is guaranteed to be extra super racist.

I do not agree with requiring voter I’d, but if they are going to demand it, then ALL id should be free.

Confirming ones ID when they register to vote is not the same thing is confirming their ID when they actually vote. Is it? You can register to vote in Illinois online - without a physical ID. When you buy a home you will present your ID at least 3 different times to the same person/people. When you board an airplane you must be identified when checking in - and yet again when you pass security - and often Again when you board the flight. I do not think stealing votes is changing section results, and I do not think showing an ID to vote is suppression. Can you imagine that - having an opinion which doesn’t rely on a political party. Just common sense.

I was engaging with you in a fact based discussion, citing evidence and history. You've resorted to childish name-calling. That's my indication that you're not a serious person. I'm trying to foster dialogue, not petulant bickering. You can be on your way now. Peace.

By state’s law this isn’t a true democracy. It isn’t a democratic republic. These states that from what I’ve read collect federal tax dollars in my biased opinion should secede from the true democratic republic. Personally, I would never set foot in these states.

Thank you for always cutting straight through all of their BS. It's extremely helpful to have clear, concise facts to refute the disinformation that our MSM so readily ignores (or helps propagate).

Thanks Ian. That's my goal. Get my readers the facts and get straight to the point so they can be confidently informed and accurately informed.

Trump's "MAGA MORONS" are fixated on taking our country and society back 100+ years, and sadly, the high numbers of ignorant citizens find it easier to believe him than educate themselves. We did this to ourselves, failing to teach truth over patriotism, and we've paid dearly for it. Slavery, disgusting as it was, has been a driving force that separates us, and too many citizens, mainly Black and Southerners, feel the lasting effects. We are a country unable to move forward from ingrained ignorance.

Their slogan of "Take America Back" has a double meaning that goes over their heads...or maybe the scary version is they actually want to go back to Jim Crow America.

Not only do election losers who respond by cheating not believe in democracy, but they also do not have a platform or agenda that appeals to the voters. It's just that they can't stop themselves from trying to wrench power out of the system, because they want power, and power over other people. If this sounds like precisely the dynamic about which they complain, it is.

Yep. They know they can't vote on principles, so they try to win on oppression.

Thanks for this, Qasim. The facts which you provide enable any American to pose be carefully and importantly self-critical about asking oneself, 'Do I actively work to end racism in America and end allowing my own thinking to contribute to any sort of racist social norms?'

Giving the lie to racist frames of conscious reference and unexamined feelings require personal and conscious effort. There are so many assumptions among our many assumptions about who we are in community, ...so much so that those that incline a person to being racially sensitive in a mistrustful or anxious manner can influence us, until and unless we consciously choose a normative perceptual blindness in relation to race, ethnicity and other ways of perceptual bias that are commonplace. If we choose to inform any moment with any other person by choices and actions, then we begin to undo bias and we begin to do factual acquainting and factual understanding.

It's all lies - the Republicans , the MAGAs, the Trump enablers - and they know it. And they know the awol legacy media will help spread them; when they should be exposing them for what and who they are. I am so fed up with this failure of the media to do its job! That should be the number one objective of true journalists: clean up the mess they have created by losing every ounce of integrity in doing their jobs. That alone would expose the hypocrites in Congress and the Courts. it's a disgrace and the world knows it. There can be no foreign policy in this context. It's a joke to think otherwise.

This voter id crap is ridiculous. To think this is this writers viewpoint in a country that requires id for all daily items. Verifying who you are at times using a charge card. Going to the bank. Boarding a plane. Renting an apartment. Renting a car. Buying a house. Getting any kind of loan. Going into any government building. Buying a car. I for one had my vote stole twice!! Think with an id that could have happened? No it couldn’t. His logic is you need to show Id to register. So what they still stole my vote twice. Only people for this are democrats. Big surprise!!!!

Jon - Did you miss the part where voter ID already exists? Your whole argument is based on a straw man claim that doesn't exist. You need your ID to register to vote. It's done. Period. If you actually had your vote stolen twice, then it means that the person was caught both times, and you were still able to vote. So the system worked.

Expand full comment

Are you serious.?You have a sever case of misinformation. No system works when you steal a vote. It clearly doesn’t work. With the address and proper name spelling you can vote in their place which is what happened twice as I said. Nobody got “caught” as you stated. All my vote did was cancel theirs out in reality. So please quit sharing wrong information in your “straw man claim”. I guess for you libs when you’re given facts you have to constantly deny. I guess in your fantasy world it’s all good. There is zero reason to NOT have voter Id. As stated you must have Id in this world to do anything!! So no excuse to NOT have voter ID.

Is reading comprehension really not a thing for you? We already confirm a voters identification when they register to vote. It has been successful in preventing widespread election fraud and voter fraud. I am citing facts. You are citing your unqualified and meritless opinion. If you expect to be taken seriously, then you need to provide evidence not your opinion.
