I voted for Kamala Harris, hoping she would change her policy on Gaza once she was president instead of vice president and no longer obliged to support Biden's policies. What happened, I think, is that the glass ceiling kicked in. It was there all along, and Democrats were incredibly rash to disregard it and run a woman against the evil that Is Trump.

I have cast my ballot up and down for Democratic candidates! There is no way I can condone any maga candidate. They are folks who believe in nothing but supremacy. The ACA is not perfect by any means. We deserve better healthcare (universal) than what we have now. Even in the mountains of West Virginia, they know this. No one should have to pay as much as we do for prescription drugs. There are no excuses for this. It needs to change. Please vote Blue up and down the ballot!

Thank you for sharing this. Voted the second my ballot became available. I wish all the best to your daughter and for all of your family. Good to remind people that the vote can literally save someone's life. And may it be a Happy Birthday for your daughter and many more years to come!

Predatory capitalism runs rampant in the USA. I donโ€™t know how normal non wealthy people survive. I canโ€™t imagine going bankrupt because my daughter is ill. This is what Streeting wants to do with the NHS. Any country as rich as the USA should have universal healthcare, most do. Love to you and your daughter, these are dangerous and scary timesโ€ฆ

It's truly mortifying. I've been a broke law student before and but for the mercy of a doctor who waived his fees, we would have been financially devastated. We need healthcare as a human right.

Yours isnโ€™t the only story Iโ€™ve heard like this. For your daughter, and for daughters and sons all through the country, I vote every time. I have no children of my own, but not giving others a voice isnโ€™t an option for me. Hereโ€™s to our winning today.

There are sadly millions of stories like ours. It's why the USA has the highest maternal and infant mortality, and lowest life expectancy of any developed nation on Earth.

Thank you for sharing your personal story. I hope that soon researchers will find even better meds and a cure for your beautiful daughter. I also had pre-existing conditions as a child and Medicaid paid for my life-saving surgery in 1980, before Reagan shrank it during his presidency.

I have been election texting for weeks and have had conversations with some folks who are choosing not to vote for Harris, or any Democrats, due to Gaza. I shared an article by Wajahat Ali and will share this one too if any of those conversations occur today.

I voted for your daughter, too. My vote is for every child to have whatever they need to grow and thrive. My niece has Cystic Fibrosis so I know how extremely critical health insurance is. Her frequent hospital stays and daily medicines (costing about $10k a month) are more than most families could ever bear. She deserves very day she gets to breathe.

We must work towards universal health care with all the protections we can get. Good health is a human right. Wishing my best for her and your family.
