Happy birthday! My gift will be an IOU. As soon as we return to being a two-income family, I will upgrade my subscription to paid - for you as well as my other favorite writers on this platform. Collectively, you all keep me informed and enlightened - it’s a small price to pay for such a privilege. I just can’t swing it quite yet.

Excellent advice!

I'd add, never let other people's disapproval pressure you to be impatient with your child;

And, in your 20s and 30s, never turn down the opportunity to have a weird experience.

1) Happy Birthday!! 2) I just upgraded my subscription 3) Thank you for this crystalized list. I recently turned 40, and can't agree more everything you've said. Totally resonates! 4) Please reconsider running for office, we need people with integrity, who live their values, running this country.

Great to hear from you, Qasim.

Stay the course chosen by you. Do not worry about the roads not taken. (Robert Frost) Remain faithful that positive outcomes will occur overtime. Yours is a very important enduring message. ‘As you do unto the least among us, so to you do unto Me.’

Happy birthday!! : ). And thank you for the wisdom in the excellent post!

From my own ancientness, i shall dare to add one more, and that is, never to dismiss any symptom, including dad bod, as old age, or please no, maturity! We are likely to live a very long time. If we live to a hundred, then we had better still be hot at eighty (it can be done by exercise and deep nutrition, not taljing botox etc,which makes one look every bit as old, only weirdly unnatural) or we will suffer unnecessarily in our nineties. And, frankly, in our forties and fifties etc.

Ok? So a symptom is a symptom, it is not aging!

Many medical persons might disagree, but science does not! : )

Enjoy your solar return,your wife and children. Happy, happy birthday!
