UPDATE: Initial reports have been updated to clarify that Gutiérrez was a legal and documented resident with no criminal history, not yet a U.S. Citizen. Accordingly, I am correcting my article to maintain accuracy, and apologize for my oversight. Notwithstanding my error and correction, as I’ve written before, due process of law extends to every person in this country, citizen or not, documented or not.

Moreover, the Trump regime has sent letters to U.S. Citizens to self-deport, only later claiming it was an erroneous letter. See updated links in article above about DHS telling two American citizens and lawyers to self deport and DHS telling an American citizen and doctor to self deport.

My apologies for my oversight and my gratitude to those who sent me the update for correction.

Sadly, this is only the beginning. Imagine how much worse things will be after the dollar finally collapses under the weight of America’s debt. Once that happens there will be a general break down in law and order, militias and mayhem. For those who can, I recommend escaping.

in this regimes climate and with the effects they are having on tanking the economy and firing people widely, losing a job could easily become a death sentence. When your government is not on the side of job creation, betterment of society, and reasonable social safety nets, instead doing thr opposite….they Want you to suffer needlessly and die sooner.

Technical clarification: Abrego Garcia is not a legal resident (eg ‘legal permanent resident’) but had entered the country illegally and was permitted to remain by a judge in the status of ‘withholding of removal.’ It’s an important legal distinction so just wanted to clarify. Of course, even if he did not hold that status, he — and every person within this country, regardless of citizenship or status — deserves due process. Period. Thank you for your work. We will prevail. We must prevail.

just FYI: you list Orange County Sheriff's Office as having a 287g agreement in place. Because I used to run a gardening hotline (in Orange County, California), I know that there are five or six Orange Counties in the U.S., including one in Florida. It would be helpful to know which state's Orange County has that agreement. I hope it's not California.

Not that is matter to the horror of the situation but I do think it matters to the legality of the kidnapping and internment, from what I have read from multiple outlets "Merwil had received his immigration papers and had a court date scheduled for February 2027." It was unlawful and immoral to abduct him but he is not a US citizen yet. Please post if you have a source that states something different.
