Did the government care about how many died during Jallianwala Bagh who were protesting they shouldn't be used to die?.

Did six months of protests after George's Floyd's death lead to caring whether the police continue to put people to death at their own will?

Did fifteen million deaths in Leopold' Congo show his concern?

Did the builders of the railroads care how many workers died of thirst and heat exhaustion care how many perished as long as there was another chink or mick to take their place

All of these are examples of people who cared if their brethren died and died for their caring.

So eventually when people see that the government doesn't care if they die and people feel terrorized to the point of fighting back and are flipped into becoming the terrorizers that raise the excuse to not care if all of the terrorists an anyone who associates with them die.

Of course those that want to end medicaid don't care if people die and the more we die the less ability to care we have, the not-caring is inundated to only the unworthy individuals and so we don't care about those deaths of those unworthy of life,

And then, as the poem ends, they came for me. And there was no one left to care for the poet.

I am one of those people who will probably die because of this. I know my small community will lose the only hospital in the area. I am doing all I can to help stop this, but I have little hope.

Being realistic, they want us to die because we are considered useless eaters. We are valueless in their eyes. On the other hand, they are parasites who take off of the backs of those who know how to do things they will never know.

The healthcare system I work for had a presentation about this legislation. I do think pointing out the ripple effect is so important. The immediate effect of millions losing health care is terrible, but that is not the end of the problems. It will devastate the economies of rural America

I have been emailing all three of my misnamed representatives (2 Dem Senators, 1 re-thug house cockroach) practically every-single-day, so they/their overworked office staff must be ready to scream when/if they see my name. I try to inject the occasional bit of satire into my messages, just in case they actually read them. In truth i suspect the day's emails go immediately into trash.

I wonder if we’re in the same district. I have two very useless Democrats and a lying Republican, too.

It should be clear that the government is trying to kill off as many of us as possible to sustain the oligarchy. In turn, we should do as much as possible to inflict damage on their wealth.

Qasim, this is perhaps the best article I have read on the impact of Medicaid cuts on local communities. I am a retired home care nurse and have seen first hand the value of giving money to those in need (and that would be the majority of us.) I would add that the effect will be the same as we have seen all over the country when a major company moves out. No one will be able to afford luxuries. Retail stores will close. Grocery stores, gas stations, etc. will close. The problem in our country is that the wealthy are hoarding resources and do not want to share. The simple fact of the matter is that unless they throw enough crumbs to us peasants, they will have no one to buy their products.

I tend to think in more vulgar terms, The wealthy are sucking up ALL the resources of this planet, leaving nothing for the rest of humanity. Without doubt, if this giant vacuum bill passes, homelessness will increase catastrophically, so will starvation, begging on street corners, the sale, abandonment of children, and nothing of the government's obligatory supports and protections from rape, pillage, and murder will be around to enforce what ragged remnants of law are left. Indeed we already see the co-opting of LEO for the unlawful immiseration of most of the population. Nothing but prisons will be built and filled and what profit will the plutocrats get from imprisoned people.

I certainly understand your doom scenario and do not deny that it is a possibility. This current regime is heartless, and we have been on the road to gutting our social safety net since Reagan convinced so many people of the trickle-down economics was good for the economy. Add to that the structural racism and your scenario is a done deal. But I also believe that we still can strive for a more just society. The billionaires really need the rest of us even though they worship the dollar, which is a poor god indeed.

The absence of medical care will lethally weaken this nation, its armed forces, its once productive people, will be poisoned by corporate greed which will also kill off most of the rest of life on earth. They are already well on their way to achieving mass die-off. Who needs a meteorite when the simple poisonous greed of the grifters can do the job just as easily.

Making sure that Medicaid and Medicare remain in place is important to everyone. If everyone can see a doctor and gets vaccinations and checkups, there is less chance of epidemics spreading, people going to work sick, or people becoming seriously ill because their disease wasn’t caught early.

Thank you. These cuts will hurt all of us. When our local non profit hospitals close in NW CT, for example, If one needs an ambulance one might need to go to Westchester 1 1/4 hours of NYC 2+ hours. Imagine the line of ambulances at any Emergency Department which is able to operate.

Their Point is Cruelty. Thank you again for this excellent article. I phoned my Represenative and left a message asking her to find a Republican Representative to try and sway. Good Luck

This needs to end now! I have a super idea. Why don’t we just hang that POS, convicted felon for treason and crimes against humanity, and be done with it. After all, trump himself has thrown out due process, so it should work against him too. Then all the horrendous destruction the RetrumpliKKKans are doing, and will do, will end. I am sorry to be so vocal, but the hitler era is too strong in it's resurgence.
