Giving credit when credit is due - that’s a really good idea. And Republican or Democrat. Call them. I’ve actually had better experiences when I’ve called Republican offices. One time an assistant to a D - Senator actually wanted to argue with me. I said Hey, I’m not debating anything. I’m just stating what I think and I’d like you to give my message to Senator such and such.

Thanks for the motivation.

I as an American live in Germany, and I am afraid to post anything, because I want to see my siblings, in the U.S. Big Brother might look at my history and not let me in. Plus, my husband is Germany and they arrested so many German tourists for nothing.

Jessica is the one who lit a fire under me. I follow her and everything she sets up to hit out of the park. She speaks truth, especially to this introvert who had never attended a protest, or sent letters to Senators and House Reps. Now I call 11-15 times a day, usually at night after work, or I call very early in the morning while I am sending out my emails on the issues I care about. I have templates for most of them, then alter them when stuff happens. I refuse to sit back quietly, and...I feel so much better than I did as things were being done without my participation.

Outrageous! Incompetent and terrifying Homeland Security thugs. I called my Congressman (unfortunately MAGA) and Senators, Ds, to demand action. The stone-hearted puppy killer Nome at DHS and despicable conspiracy nut Patel at FBI should be cross-examined under oath, then fired, sued. 😡😖😢 Prosecute them after this regime ends.

Fantastic talk and great information.

Societies that don't care for one another fail. I've had this discussion many times with my republican, Trump-supporting sister who has the mindset that people are responsible for their own success (regardless of systematic racism, inescapable poverty, subpar educational opportunities etc). It's honestly a heartbreaking feeling to know someone who seems unable to empathize with others. I keep hoping for a light-bulb moment as you mentioned.

Keep at it. It takes time but those moments come through eventually.

It's a well known fact that women are much more thoughtful than us guys. Men really need to do better.

In April we won everything in our municipal election ie the Naperville Township Democrats swept all of the seats they endorsed. Success is motivating. We won the Aurora Mayoral seat too taking it away from a corrupt politician.

Yes we did! (Naperville here). And John Laesch is a good friend. I was so happy to support his campaign and see him win.

The current Republican budget bill messes with Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP and my Federal Employee Retirement Healthcare. That's over 2 million retired Federal Employees whose healthcare had been guaranteed and if this budget passes the Senate, it will be diminished to almost nothing.
