Trump’s muzzling of the Federal Offices responsible for generating and dispensing information concerning Potentially dangerous epidemics coupled with the rise of Kennedy is being done to insure high disease death rates.

It’s appalling that in 2025 are health statistics are the lowest in the developed world.

It’s people like Robert Kennedy will take us lower.

Maga loves to serve up their absolute worst for direction of vital departments. This is all part of their scheme to let Putin take over ‘America from within’.

Trump/ Musk are his major means of destroying important institutions.

Every one of his appointments are not because the appointed individual has the wherewithal to direct these agencies , but precisely because they don’t .

The intention is to run us into the ground.

The children of the poorest first.

A Governments duty is to regulate agencies according to need .

I assure you their ( MAGA) need is to destroy.

The wealthy will take over everything it cost to run these agencies for the good of us and pocket the money for the wealthiest tax breaks .

Robert Kennedy is one more anti social personality in charge of our health care system.

I wasn't going to read your posting because I knew what would happen. I did read it and my reaction was exactly what I thought it would be. I started crying. My granddaughter is 4 and my son is aware he will have to find a way to get her vaccinated for polio and measles, and more. I watched " The Apprentice", in disgust, last night. A man as vile as Roy Cohn, who was trump's mentor, did not approve of trump, before he died. Putting RFK, Jr. in charge of our health shows just how much trump could care less about the American population, including his MAGAT cultist lunatics. I feel we are doomed if something doesn't happen soon, and I mean more than just lawsuits.

As a pediatrician, I would add this: Make sure you and your children are up to date on all your immunizations. The second MMR may be given as early as 4 weeks after the first dose for children at high risk of exposure (and given that we’re currently seeing outbreaks across the country, every child is at increased risk). The shots that are given at 15 or 18 months check ups may be given any time after the first birthday (with six months between the first and second hepatitis A vaccine). The HPV vaccine may be given as early as age 9. Likewise, adults over 50 should get their Pneumococcal and Shingles vaccines).

Dear God, the situation is far worse than I thought . You paint a very bleak picture indeed . This truly is THE most terrifying time for all Americans . Wearing a mask is excellent advice : my retired GP husband ( having had Covid twice despite being vaccinated ) wears a mask in crowded places . Watching the orange felon crowing with delight as the cameras zoom into his endless signings in the Oval Office . Delighting no doubt in the accolades he receives from adoring acolytes. Sickening.

Our implemented methodology up to this point has produced the highest mortality rate of all developed countries?

Interesting.

I really appreciate how you diagnose the problem but also follow it with the remedy.

And this: "Already in Gaines County, Texas, a measles outbreak has 24 confirmed cases, with 9 hospitalizations—all unvaccinated.⁵ Gaines County voted 91% for Donald Trump. A reminder that vicious diseases don’t care what political party we belong to, or what part of the country we live in." WOWZERS!

We are now a nation of under-educated people with under-developed critical thinking skills who simultaneously embrace the fad of repelling any field of expertise. A perfect combination for our fall from grace.

My father passed away last year and I’m still dealing with his mail. He was a lifelong Scientologist and fairly radical. Anyway, among the mail he receives is a newsletter from Bob Livingston. I occasionally peruse the mailing to be informed on the Trump movement. The entire mantra of the newsletter is to basically reject all facts from science and reputable journalists, deploy economic and healthcare conspiracy theories, and, of course, to BUY GOLD!!!

thank-you for sharing. It is impressive what blatant lies are made (think of all the energy used for doing this) and what blatant lies are believed. I am sad you are seeing your father’s mail that is also so disturbing.

At 74, almost 75, this scares the wit out of me. I used to get teased a lot because I am anal about getting vaccinations. I am relatively lucky on the medication front: two long-ago patented BP meds and epinephrine. The epinephrine was prescribed with a vial and syringe when the lone marketeer made the cost unaffordable.

Kennedy looks and sounds like a man suffering from a long list of health problems… not a scientific comment at all. However certainly does not engender any kind of sound belief that he has any solution to America’s healthcare. How would he react to any ( future) pandemic? The importance of primary healthcare , child inoculations … the list is too long. I just looked at him being sworn in on the news last night and was filled with foreboding . Hope I’m wrong .

Thank you Qasim for liking my comment , which lacks substance . Writing anything intelligent in the morning before my coffee fix is unwise.

However my thought on a minister of Health ( Health secretary etc ) should , in my opinion , be preferably someone with a medical background … ? Kennedy is the last person I’d go to if I was unwell - I’d rather see a witch doctor!!

I'm an MS patient, and this scares me to death! I'm already tapering off as many meds as I can, as safely as I can.

Years ago, when I was uninsured, I got an expensive med through a company called Canada Drug. They procured the med from India, with the same efficacy, at a drastically lower price.

I'm getting caught up on all my vaccinations as well. Flu and pneumonia this week. COVID and RSV in two weeks. Tetanus and shingles ASAP after that.

My PCP just made a bunch of referrals for me, so I can get some other concerns addressed as soon as possible.

I'm basically doing everything I can before everything collapses.

Thanks for keeping us apprised, Qasim. Blessings.

And of course, his antics with the SCOTUS nominations. BTW, can you confirm you ran in VA-01 a few years ago? Since redistricting, I now reside there, and I am furious with Wittman. If I remember correctly, I think I very briefly crossed paths with you during the 2020 cycle, and you told a great story about meeting rural Virginians who depended on Medicare... but had been convinced to vote against their own interests due to right-wing media and messaging. Thank you!
