I'm quickly becoming a Lapsed (former lifelong) Democrat. Much like a lapsed Catholic. Same diff. (Leaving due to hypocrisy and betrayal.)

Primary Schumer. He's coming up.

We absolutely need a third party because I'm done with the Democratic Party, and I don't say that lightly. I've supported too many politicians.

Canvassing, social media, town halls, phone banks, many days of no sleep and lost weekends and for what? The only democrat that I would ever support again would be Beto O'Rourke. Other than him I'm done.

Trump should not be in the WH. Please see election truth alliance - they have mountains of verifiable evidence that musk rigged the election for trump to win. Also see Jessica denson and mark Thompson podcasts showing proof

Respectfully, Qasim and Marie (and Sanders) were victims of Democrat party leadership. “Controlled by corporate PACS…” is an issue with the party itself, in addition to select candidates. We need a party that crosses lines and is centered on people not profit.

I thought for sure that you would be talking about a third party, an actual Conservative Party. Kamala did get 48% of the vote.

Thank you for having this conversation. I’m sorry I missed it live, but listening early this morning has brightened my day before sunrise. “This is doable” will be the grasp of hope that helps carry me forward.

Thank you for tuning in!

I'd be happy just to get a second party

THIS is one of the most succinct and encouraging discussions I have listened to in a long time.

I am old and I agree. I am thrilled to see the young folks who do go into politics!

If you want to guarantee that Republicans win every election in the future, then sure add another party. Then they'll be able to win without ever having a majority. A third party is an asinine move.

Marcia Z Bookstein's avatar

There already is a substantial third party--nonvoters. Nearly 90 million eligible voters did not vote in this last election. When I was walking precincts in a mostly immigrant aand working class communities for Bernie (yes, registered Democrats) my job was to get them interested in voting again. As one man put it, "I had hope for change. I didn't get change, and I lost hope." Who is giving these people hope? Not the Democrats. Nor the Republicans. If every one of those people voted for one third party candidate, that person would have won.

Alexander D. Aurichio's avatar

Big assumption to think all of the non-party voters would all come together for one candidate.

Marcia Z Bookstein's avatar

Oh, yeah. But a girl can dream, no? What would life be like without those dreams?

But you are absolutely correct. Sort of a math problem where the wrong answer is correct.

But the alternative is to agree that whoever has the most money wins. That just makes me lose my appetite.

Trab's avatar

Sure why would we need a third party two Wall St warmongering party's have got this.

Alexander D. Aurichio's avatar

A third party would guarantee that there would never be a majority leading the country and 2/3rds of voters would be unhappy and disenfranchised.

James Groat's avatar

For sure, a third party is nothing but a stupid spoiler reaching out for stupid votes.

Qasim Rashid, Esq.'s avatar

I'm not demanding a third party and I'm not saying its the only solution. I am saying the current model has resulting in exactly what you're warning about, 2 of the last 3 elections.

Alexander D. Aurichio's avatar

If you want to solve that. Demand that Citizens United be overturned and put a very low cap on how much $ candidates and campaigns can spend on advertising. Once corporations figure out they can't buy candidates, you might see better people being elected.

Stephen Suzman's avatar

You need Republican support and that is unlikely.

And Term Limits on Congress and the House!!

Good golly some of those people look like they really close to a starring role the Ŵalking Dead!

Get those relics out of there!

Marcia Z Bookstein's avatar

I like some of those relics. Like Bernie Sanders.

Thank you. These guys are not educate or responsible. Trump supporters. We need to hold the against this political coup. No third parties. We are working to survive not commit suicide. That's what's hopeless where are they getting these numbers. Think to live. We are on the verge of destruction.
