Qasim, I'm responding here to a different Post, for obvious reasons. The Chris Hedges Report: Once again I'm prevented from making a comment because of a paywall (so trumpian, so.....capitalist!). The shame is that Chris Hedges, in his visionary essay "My Thoughts On the Attempted Trump Assasination" has put our contemporary situation in a breathtakingly truthful perspective - brilliantly identifying what is imperative if our contemporary circumstances have a chance to avoid absolute oblivion (or a horrifying, authoritarian dystopia - which is the same thing!). Because his message is so important, I'll have to find another way to promote it other than by commenting on his thread. Pity!

I keep hearing that this is the greatest humanitarian crisis in the world, even worse than the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which is constantly in the news, yet no one has been talking about Sudan, until finally Qasim enlightens us. Thanks, Qasim! This is indeed horrendous! A nation whose citizens have been suffering for a very long time now.

Thank you, Qasim, for this helpful update and for pointing out ways to assist the people of Sudan.

Continuing and increasing humanitarian aid is one way to assist the people; each of us can donate. Uninterrupted humanitarian assistance delivery, both adequate and prompt, and in ways that create civilian safe areas, are needed. Perhaps contacting our elected representatives will give them facts and the promptings they need from us to have them work on USAID and other parts of Dept of State to work for more effective international effort for non-violent conflict intervention and conflict resolution.

What’s with the attacks on hospitals? How did we get here? The US through the UAE is driving the conflict.

Thank you. Our lack of attention to Sudan is a huge blemish on all of our combined humanity. We should feel shame and do something! Frankly if all wars don’t stop tomorrow and countries don’t come together to fight climate change there won’t be a world to worry about in terms of spheres of power. The world will look like Sudan. World leaders are playing Russian Roulette with Mother Nature. I don’t call that leadership. We are all being betrayed by those who profess to care about our lives and future. That said, I have no idea what to do.

Qasim, deepest appreciation for highlighting and providing a helpful information link regarding this truly horrific situation (I'll stay connected with the NasAlSudan link and Guardian columnist Nesrine Malik!). The Israeli connection (Knitwish, below) is not at all surprising. Your determination to create a future more committed to justice and universal human rights is gratifying. It has been extremely frustrating and infuriating to note the lack of coverage and information regarding the tragedy in Sudan in our corrupt and irresponsible media. Many thanks!

The counter-insurgency government also supports Israel’s genocide in Gaza AND is using Israeli weapons. Thank you for pointing to one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises and providing us with resources for further research! This story needs to be told.
