How did Tr-- benefit from not holding the Saudis responsible for the killing ???

Reuters May 16, 2025 by Pesha Magid, Manya Saini and Andrew Mills.

During his first term, Trump celebrated an announcement of approximately $110 billion of arms sales during his visit to Saudi Arabia. But such deals extend over many years and are hard to track closely. As of 2018, only $14.5 billion of sales had been initiated and Congress began to question the deals in light of the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

I don't like the Saudi Royal Family and I don't want to belittle the assassination of Khashoggi, but something like 200 journalists have been killed in Gaza and the West Bank. No politician or media raised a ruckus about the killing of Shireen Abu Akleh and she was an American journalist. And when I see BidenTrumpObamaBush meeting with Netanyahu/MBS/Putin/etc., I just think of these meetings as the "assembling of the assassins." All of these presidents (and more) have had people assassinated (especially recently through the drone program in Iraq and Afghanistan; read Jeremy Scahill's Dirty Wars). Many were civilians.

Yep. And Trump is calling a former Al-Qaeda general (who used to have a $10M American bounty on his head for his role in killing Americans) a "handsome, strong, good guy." Disgusting.

I subscribed to Ground News after reading this. With the news outlets owned by less than stellar people, and the direction the country is going in, we need to have access to a news source outside of the US.

WHY is NO One discussing this or protesting DCs Saudi "Deals"❓❓❓

When i brought it up, some ignorant live chatter - or DC BOT- declared Jamal Kashoggi's Assassination as

an inconsequential loss~

Aiahlika a nakfi (Truth, my brother). Yakoke (Thank u) for shining light and lifting him up. He was such a light in this dark world. He was a courageous truth teller, a stellar journalist and a loving, empathetic human being. I will always be haunted by Biden shattering his promise about accountability and smiling and fist-bumping MBS like a beloved friend. Keep dropping the breadcrumbs a nakfi. Be well, stay safe and have a restorative, fun weekend ahead x0x

That fist bump made no sense. I have no idea what they were trying to do with that.

The fact that Trump is cutting deals with MBS tells you everything you need to know. The horrible murder of a journalist is nothing to Trump. Enriching his corrupt family is all that matters. He would like to emulate MBS, when it comes down to it. These deals with the Saudis are in many respects worse than the grotesque Qatari plane bribe. The media’s role is execrable.

Sickening and disgusting he is a murderer and an evil monster. Clapping and laughing and praising this monster. Holding their hands against their hearts. They have no souls or hearts. I will never forget any of this. I remember when this happened. Thank you for all your work and breaking everything down. Be safe 💯💪💯💙🙏🏾

The fact that the murderers have never been brought to justice, and that piece of garbage trump has no issue with cozying up to the criminals, just shows how birds of a feather.......... It is so depressing with what is going on in our country and how powerless we are to have him removed from his dictatorship. For trump to even have the balls to show his face with the murderer is totally disgusting.

Normalization of assassination. Terrifying.

Yes, that word applies to how so many feel. It is terrifying that there is no compassion for the murder, but trump does not have an empathetic bone in his body, or we would not be going through the hell he is putting us through. And terrifying on how will we survive this horror we are living in.

Noam Chomsky's five filters of propaganda.

The five filters are: (1) ownership; (2) advertising; (3) official sources; (4) flak; and (5) marginalizing dissent.

I rarely follow mainstream media. Maybe Lawrence O’Donnel, or Chris Hayes. Ravel Maddow, Ari Melber. Many times I’m surprised they are still on the air. You are the one I worry about. Publications like Mother Jones, The New Republic and so many others tell you what’s happening, dark and soulless as it is. Assault on every avenue. I know we all want you to be safe.
