You’re right to call out Debbie W Schulz’s shady play, and the shadiness of the Dem Old Guard in backing her rich white commuter self over Black locals. They have big words but are hollow.

I deeply respect your takes, but I thought your evidence of Mrs Vindman’s racism were thin (those were all words I’ve heard on trashy reality TV made by folks of all colors) … but hoo boy it made me see how utterly unhinged of a liability she is. That’s not normal or acceptable for a high profile politician’s family member.

And everything you said about Nixon made me like her. (The ethical stances most, but the thrifting is endearing)

But no matter what, if Vindman is the choice of the Dem Old Guard, he’s not good for democracy or us little humans. So I’m thrilled to pieces Nixon won.

I really hope you’re right that she can win. I’ve already been reading poo-poohs from mainstream media, but they’re hopelessly captured by now so I’m more likely to listen to principled voices like yours.

How many DSA and progressive candidates have to win before the rest of them will actually start listening to what people want?

I wish there were a position (very public) for someone like you to TELL the PEOPLE what the party does every week and why! It would keep the corporate weasels front and center, and they wouldn't be able to spin their bullshit. YOU would be there, looking over their shoulder and reporting to US--the people who are supposed to be running this country--what is really happening in Washington both good and bad. I bet it wouldn't be long before the Democrats were a united front and you'd have good news and honest explanations each week!

I voted for Angie after reading about Vindman's issues right here on your substack. I hadn't read any of that information anywhere else and I want to thank you for bringing those issues to my attention. I wasn't hopeful that she'd win but I voted with my heart and she won! Gives me a little hope that the country, maybe even Florida!!, isn't a lost cause after all. I donated to Angie again last night and will do all I can to support her because Moody is vile!

So, the first thing after the House is won: Do Not Elect Hakeem Jeffries! He is the biggest milquetoast I have ever seen be placed in such an important role. He seems to have no beliefs. He definitely has no fight and no charisma. Who would you recommend? They speak, but also have to keep the party in line. Thanks for all the info! 👹

Thanks to everyone in FL for voting for Nixon!

Corporate media is part of dangerous don's puppets, his tools. He uses them when he wants and throws them away until the next time. Corporate media isn't going to publish anything that may hurt him, hurt future elections, hurt republicans. Acknowledging Angie Nixon, spreading her name, may wake up Democrats, may educate the, what's the term he used? Undereducated. Corporate media has done nothing but support a felon. Why? Who has he sued and won? Who has he bullied, successfully? They are running scared. Don't they realize this won't last forever and we will remember that they turned their backs on our country and were a cog in this chaos, If they'd wake up and band together, they would make a giant step for mankind!

I love what you said, Qasim, about needing more Angie Nixon's NOT AS A SYMBOL but as a standard. Dems are still too tied into "symbols"--let's elect a woman, a Black, a gay, a Muslim. What Nixon stood strong for is what's important--specifics! No more empty barrels (Kamala)! We need to look for strong candidates with their own ideas (not what the Party tells them to do). No vaaaague glowing promises--concrete plans. I don't care what the person who presents those plans to work for the people LOOKS LIKE.

I had expected to vote for Vindman, but you showed me who he really is. Thank you!

Also very disappointed in Wasserman-Schultz, very bad for the party to support her in this. Shame on them all.

Alexander Vindman has been kicked to the curb. He can "Just focus on November" all he wants. He's no longer a carpet bagging trip hazard in the general election.

"Black women are the most loyal Democratic Party voting base in America, followed by Black men."

That happened in 2 waves. Originally, Black men voted Republican because of Abolition and enfranchisement. But in 1936 the majority of Northern Blacks supported FDR. And the second wave was 1964, when 90% of US Blacks voted for Johnson after the Civil Rights Act.

I appreciate your report on Angie Nixon's victory.

Let us hope that she wins the seat in November. the three great Democratic Senate Candidates win, in MI, MN, and FL that will change the complexion of the Senate and maybe even persuade Chuck Schumer, D-Wall Street, D-AIPAC to resign his position. Does he really need that tsuris (meaning aggravation, but even stronger) ?

Meanwhile, I am quite concerned about Dr. Abdul El-Sayed. He is facing not only AIPAC money (again) but even fiercer Islamophobia than he did during the primary, from an opponent who refuses to debate him. (Gee, I wonder why? Maybe because he is not a Michigander and appears incapable of discussion issues).

The disdain from MI pro-Zionist Jews, insist that he is Antisemitic, a bald-faced lie. I joined the MI Jews for Abdul group, but it is apparently more interested in having Abdul repent for Antisemitism, using snippets, taking out of context, of his magnificent response after the (luckily) abortive attack at Temple Israel in the Detroit burbs. One response in a Detroit newspaper admitted that Abdul vehemently opposed the attack and defended the Jewish community, but then went on to argue that somehow he hurt MI Jews....by--wait for it--committing history. Historians (members of my guild) always try to understand events, even vile ones. The perpetrator had lost a number of family members, murdered by IDF bombs, in Lebanon. Abdul wrote "hurt people will hurt." How is that Antisemitic?

I’m super happy Angie won. The remarks Rachel made were completely offensive. And it showed that she has no class. Let’s Go Angie.

What Rachel said was beneath despicable. She doesn't deserve to live among other human beings.

Both socialism and capitalism are systems. Unscrupulous politicians can manipulate both. We have seen socialism manipulated and fought wars against it. We are now seeing capitalism being manipulated. We need politicians willing to stand on principles and not on fundraising. Candidates like Angie Nixon will return America to the people, not the exploiters of the people.
