Term Limits. Including the "Supreme" Court. Politicians should serve, the people, not themselves. Our representatives go in, build a career, make deals and leave wealthy. Term Limits.
Emmitt Till’s murder hit me very hard We were the same age and I remember seeing his picture in the casket. I’m white and I think it was my first experience realizing what racism was. I lived on the south side of Chicago in a fairly poor neighborhood in Chatham. I remember my Dad trying to explain how these men did this to him It’s always stuck with me. I did visit his grave I still can’t believe this goes on and seems to be getting worse. I feel very badly that you and Waj have to put up with these horrible things people say. At my age I I think the only think I can do now is prayer and give money to the really poor. I’m so afraid where our country is headed. I hope everyone will go out and vote. And be sure who you vote for is not taking money from AIPAC and a couple of other PACs that support Isreal genocide.
Conservatism goes with institutions. Change is feared. The law is to be respected and altering it to allow more freedom is resisted. The Supreme Court is not a liberal institution and when it departed from this in the astounding years in the 1950's when Brown vs Board of Education of Topeka was passed unanimously, it did the country proud but was widely hated for it. But as was shown in the years following it fighting the New Deal, it will moderate if it becomes unpopular though that takes years for members to be replaced.
When you consider that people in general do not like change, that power never likes change except to increase power, that politicians will fight any change that risks their office, that any deviation from the "free market" is considered anathema, that America has had a majority white population that sees non-whites as not really American it's remarkable that change ever takes place.
The Trump gang is dedicated to shutting down any objections to income inequality while giving it the green light as the President flaunts wealth (the ballroom) in our faces and gets richer by any means available. We've arrived at such a grotesque perversion of the power of we the people into a democracy of lobbies that even the most dedicated recluse sees that change has been entirely for the benefit of the few, the reversal of the rule of the majority with the Supreme Court approving this in the Citizens United decision.
Money is speech. Corporations are persons. Trump was elected with only 27% of the vote of the electorate and the US government fully protects and nurtures ethnic cleansing Israel. Obama, "Mr. Hope" bailed out the big banks and after the atrocious behavior of the GWB years told us to look forward not back. Dare anyone mention liberty and JUSTICE FOR ALL?
With all the slaps in the face by the 1% to the 99% people are not in the streets because as long as Amazon deliveries arrive on time all is well. That must not change though we lose everything non-material worth having. The political soul of the country sold for stuff.
The turnout at the midterm elections should be as high or higher than ever before in American history. If it isn't then we are sheep whose shearing will continue.
This country has the worst voter turnout of all "first world" countries. Some hace mandatry voting, some make voting day a holiday so there is greater opportunity. Make the U.S. fair.

Inshallah. White people do better and fight for humanity.
It’s a tribute to you, Qasim, that you had the courage to follow your heart.
The problem.
