I am 75 years old and have never given to any political candidate the amount I have contributed to Kat's campaign. I have met her and she is the real thing. I told her I have been waiting a long time for her arrival. I've spent the past 6 weeks informing the passing pubic on the streets that two of her competitors for the seat in Congress have voted for Israel in the past (Biss and Fine) and several people have told me they were not aware of this. We have GOT to get Zionism out of American politics from top to bottom. President Biden proudly declaring he is a Zionist should have terrified all Americans, yet MSM didn't pose a single question about this traitorous statement.
Everyone should avoid MSM and attend to alternative media that certainly includes Qasim.
Thanks for platforming these two women. I may be biased but I think women have been given a bad rap. Most of the comments on substack are from women. Women know without having to be told, what the issues are relating to your country. The issues these ladies spoke of are proof! I know there's a lot of misogyny out there but I think women have quit butting their heads against that brick wall. They are standing up, together to effect change. It's not going to be easy but it's necessary if you want a country that is not reliant on war-ish imperialism to make the country prosperous. The 1% have made their fortune because of the workers and now it's time for the workers to say IT'S MY TURN. Good luck ladies as a UK resident I can't vote for you but I can enthuse about you and hope you win because women know the needs of the people. Men, unfortunately only concentrate on their own needs. Kat is an outstanding candidate whose campaign I have been making small donations to and, if she wins next Tuesday’s primary, will fully back in the November general election.
Unlike some self-described “progressives,” she has never wavered on supporting Ukraine and Taiwan.
But I am concerned IL-9 residents voting for her in the Democratic primary will lead to the candidate being propped up by AIPAC, Laure Fine, winning it.
That’s why I voted for Daniel Biss, even though I prefer Kat’s approach to Israel-Palestine over his.
My understanding is that Biss supported anti-BDS legislation at the state level in Illinois but opposes it at the federal level.
I will contact his campaign office immediately regarding this matter and get back to you shortly.
Calculations about who has a better chance of winning are often wrong. I have found so many times that when people vote for whom they consider the more electable person instead of the one they really like the most, we end up with unsatisfactory results, with usually the one we least like ending up winning, or secondarily the 2nd choice & assumed more electable person (which usually turns out not to be the case) ending up disappointing us in their performance as our representative.
Excellent point, James. But in certain situations the opposite is true. Look at how many candidates the MAGA lunatics have nominated who have gone on to lose general elections to Democrats in states like Arizona and Georgia, case in point Hershel Walker.
I would submit that Senator Warnock is relatively progressive by Georgia standards, & is probably the best you can hope for (along with Ossoff). I don't know if he had any challengers in the Democratic primary, but he was the incumbent. Walker was a famous & popular but quite flawed candidate, although even with substantial flaws, most Republican candidates win in the South. The Georgia Republican legislature has since tried everything they can think of to make it harder for Democrats to win there.
I’ll enthusiastically support Kat in the general election if she wins next Tuesday’s primary.
In fact, I will go a step further than that and write her in for the general election should Laura Fine win next Tuesday or it turns out that Biss is in favor of federal anti-BDS legislation.
