Yeah I really don’t like the position Ed Sheeran has taken on this. First it was his speech where he said his shows and his songs are about unity. And that his concerts are a place to stand next to someone you might not agree with. It’s a great sentiment. Then he cried on one of his recent shows about it. Crying doesn’t stop Israel’s actions. What WOULD have helped (even indirectly) was pulling out of the show when they kicked Macklemore off the events, saying “An attack on one’s freedom of expression is an attack on all of us,” saying he wants peace in the Middle East full stop (which allows him to take the centrist position he seems to prefer), and put the pressure on Robert Kraft and the people who own these venues and support Israel.

I didn’t know the name Macklemore before now..I may have heard his music but not the name. He sounds like an amazingly thoughtful, articulate person of reason (the kind I am Seeking 😉) He makes a great example of being principled and just.
This is a tangent: have you read "The Peoplle of the Book" by Geraldine Brooks? It's not very long, and is a quick read. It's about a Jewish prayer book written during the Moorish occupation of Spain. It was written and illustrated by a young Jewish woman, which was a big nono because prayer books weren't supposed to be illustrated and certainly not by women. When the Inquisition begins, she gives the book to a Muslim friend to hide for her, and the hunt begins down through the centuries. It's a wonderful story about love and cooperation between Jews, Muslims, and Christians, working up to the present day. I cry every time I read it. Highly recommend it.
