We can't fight against what we don't see! This is why they are taking control of what we see. Orban of Hungary used the method to great effect. Now little dick wants to join that club of dictators. Follow what Orban and Putin did and you will have a direct line to where America's heading.

Excellent callout on the kill-switch dynamic. When outlets let government silence decide coverage, they're no longer doing journalism but performing risk mitigation. That Alfonsi email is brutal because she names the exact mechanism: refusing an interview becomes a veto over investigative work. I remeber seeing similar patterns in some regional outlets around 2019 where agencies would slow-walk responses until deadlines passed and stories got shelved.

When a government can silence a story simply by refusing to comment, that’s not “editorial caution.” That’s a kill switch. This lays out the mechanics cleanly and without hysteria. Secrecy plus cruelty plus media compliance isn’t a glitch. It’s the system working as designed.

With the exception of their local news affiliate, and the fact that I watch maybe two shows, I'm going to have to boycott and give a big FU to CBS.

Jess Craven had this in Chop Wood, Carry Water today: Let’s contact CBS about their horrible decision to cancel the Cecot story on 60 Minutes last night. We can reach them at their comment page here (https://help.cbsnews.com/s/contactsupport) or at their Ombudsman feedback page (https://ombudsman.cbsnews.com/). We can also leave a comment on their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/CBSNews) or DM them via their Instagram page here (https://www.instagram.com/cbsnews/).

Thank you so much, Qasim - for always telling it like it is, and bringing us the news we need to hear.

We can't super news organizations that are winning to compromise their values to earn favor with the single most corrupt president of our time.

I'd be absolutely fine with everyone named in the Trump-Epstein files being sent to CECOT without a trial. Then they can experience some of what their victims did. FAFO!

This should be a wake-up call for all. This Trump Administration can not be trusted even with the time of day.

There is a fundamental problema in attempting to ciculate news or any information. All producers need/want subscriptions. While the reading/thinking population at large are generally under financial distress. In a time of newspapers they were inexpensive, shared, diseminated. That is not possible now. Of course for the regieme this works. You, your contemporaries must find a better model. And where are the monied liberals, or supporters of a free press and the constitution? And the so called Democratic Party, sold out useless chicken shit professional politicians.

This censorship is happening across the board in mainstream media. NPR, which I used to trust, is guilty. Many examples, but I'll give one: when Biden was getting unsteady on his feet and giving confused speeches, NPR news talked about it constantly. Now, when Trump blathers nonsense word salad--NEVER ONE WORD about it. None. I no longer trust their glossed-over news, in fact I can't stand to listen to it. I guess out of fear they are kissing up to the administration--like Germans must have done when confronted with Hitler. Just don't ask me to support this or even listen to it. Eventually, I think MSM is in for a shock when they find that very few people want their product as it has become.

This is the opposite of what 60 Minutes started out to be. The Fapweasel (Trump) is a bully and people and corporations must stand up to him. He needs a metaphorical slap across the face.
