I can't wait for all the heads to explode when Mamdani starts fulfilling all of his campaign promises! The Trump Admin has taught us there is plenty of money IF the person in charge (and his administration) want things to happen. Corporate Dems have been pretending for years--at the same time they fold-- that "we just didn't have the votes," or "the opposition came up with ______." Obema's first term ('08-'10) he could have passed Medicare for All (which, instead, brought us the ACA); they let Mitch McConnell refuse to let Obama appoint a Supreme Court Justice in his last YEAR in office, but had no trouble with Trump appointing two; and we just watched them cave on the shutdown. NYC's new mayor is about to blow the lid off of Democratic lies and weakness disguised as "we can't."
Fantastic interview! Transparency in the budget is a huge goal. But what really impresses me is Mamdani’s desire to listen to people - even if they don’t support him - as part of his search for solutions he’s not already aware of!
Thank you for responding! Mamdani is emotionally mature enough to know he doesn’t have to act as if he has all the answers (contrast that with Donald “Only I can solve things” Trump). I read actress Lupita Nyongo’s endorsement of him, and her description of how he behaved when working in the motion picture industry was impressive. (His mom is in that industry and Lupita first met him when he was only 14 years old.) Emotional maturity that’s light years ahead of the egotistical man-babies in the GOP.
