I agree with Zoe and Kari. This hate, this ignorance is not the America I remember or want. The haters are the ones who should be held accountable along with their erroneous view that all Americans feel as they do. We can see that we do not share their narrow, hateful, stupid ideas. And they obviously don't understand the teachings of the Quran. We cannot allow their stupidity to be the standard. It's not.

I’m sick of the double standards in this country. Christians attacking Muslims, the Zionist attacking Muslims why is this tolerated by the religious leaders? Why aren’t they speaking out, making some effort to unify groups. If the same was true, Tax focused on Jews, for example, it would be all over the news. You couldn’t turn a channel without hearing about the increased antisemitism and the need for protection on the streets and in the schools and synagogues. But there is no such outcry when it comes to a Muslim. Why the bias Where are the voices demanding respect for all people, regardless of their beliefs. And finally, I suspect that someone, is pouring gasoline on the fire increasing the device of that we see between the Christians and Muslim groups. It would not serve some well if there was unity and support between the various Christian groups and Islamic community.

One positive thing: New York City just elected a young Muslim mayor by a landslide! Mamdani's youth was against him, although counteracted some by his experience in city government. His religion was probably neutral, a t least in liberal New York - it did not affect his policies, which were to the benefit of the city. His speaking up for Palestinians was undoubtedly a positive: he agreed with the vast majority of Democratic voters. If Kamala Harris had done that, we might have had a Democratic president despite-the glass ceiling.

Now he seems to have a new friend and admirer: Donald J. Trump. https://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/11/21/us/trump-news?unlocked_article_code=1.208.9HGz.FP8whleMJHSH&smid=url-share

Do you think the mainstream media is “just” ignoring the rising islamophobia… or could they be causing it?

I dont want to be paranoid, but it feels as if the Western corporate media has quite a sinister agenda - consistently for decades. I feel there is a much bigger story here.

I’m not a Christian nor will I ever be. I think for myself and I won’t follow any belief system where someone tells you what to think. Trump comes to mind. I have found that like minded people will find each other and feed upon each other’s negativity. Then they become a mob with their own agenda and permission. Then it becomes sanctioned and released onto the people that they are targeting. Nazi Germany is what you are witnessing. It’s being encouraged , sanctioned and as we speak the first people are of Indigenous descent. They are being rounded up and disappeared. Next, they will come for Asians and Muslims. This is my opinion. This is also why the people are angry about ICE. They are the regime’s Gestapo.

You’re right, Qasim-corporate media isn’t only ignoring the fact that anti-Muslim hate is a huge and ever growing problem, but outlets like Faux News are actively adding to the problem. And the 🍊-in-chief piles it on pretty heavily too. Vile! Peace to you.

I am sorry that this renewed hate against Muslims is on the rise, and you must continuously write about it. So many things Americans need to worry about, and yet, some get attention, for they know not what! -- they do not know our own Constitution, which gives freedom of religion to all. Only schooled in christianity, they are ignorant of the broader concepts of freedom. I just feel sorry, Qasim, since you have other things to do, and ignorant hateful Americans are taking up your time and energy. My heart is with you tonight.

If you are ever somewhere and you even think someone looks like they want to or are about to start some racist attacks, verbal or physical, don't run away. Stay. Make your presence known. You don't even have to say much, just being a witness can scare many of these individuals off. And hopefully stop an innocent person from trauma that day. My current retail workplace employs a lot of immigrants. We are in a purple/leans red area. More than a few MAGA types both work and shop there. It's happened where just having an extra person nearby has stopped a verbal attack just as it's starting. On lunches and breaks I'm known as a safe person to sit by, because I won't harass them, but will shut up any MAGA type that thinks they can start something.

My most vivid post 9-11 memory comes from one night at the bookstore I worked at. I wss manager on duty and was helping two teen girls wearing hijab find books for a school assignment. They were to read a book about a famous person and write an essay on how that person inspires them. They wanted a cool, awesome take no prisoners woman. After I got them happily settled in women's history I saw a guy staring at them. And walking fast over looking angry. I stuck around, cleaning and reorganizing. Another employee had clocked him and stepped in front of him greeting and offering help. This threw him off track long enough to see me there also. A soldier from the local base was in the area also, dressed in his fatigues. When he came over with a sudden interest in history and just stood there it wss over for the guy. He left deflated he could not ruin the night for these teen girls, who like teen girls the world over, were in their own little world and had no idea any of this happened. The soldier? Sat in a nearby chair reading and keeping guard in case anyone else got any bad ideas. The girls left happy and empowered by a night of women's history.

Since they know nothing about religion in general, they can only name-call in their ignorance So very sorry this is happening. Christian nationalism has very little to do with Christ’s teachings.

I am so sorry and so disgusted and angered by the comments from those hateful bigots. My heart goes out to you, your family and all Muslims.

Thank you for always being a rational, educated and compassionate voice. I, and many others are grateful you continue bringing this to everyone’s attention. Stay safe.
