Dear friends, readers, and supporters,
At the moment, I am navigating a deeply personal life event involving my father’s health. As my family and I are his primary caregivers, it is of utmost importance that we allocate as much of our time and effort as possible to his care in the time we have left with him.
As such, rather than my daily posts, expect to see fewer posts over the coming near future. Life is impossible to predict, so my apologies I cannot be more precise.
It is not lost on me, that because of your trust and support, I am fortunate to be able to spend this precious time with him. A privilege of time afforded to too few, and one that should be a human right for all. As I reflect on the deplorable state of access to care in this nation, this lived experience is reminding me once more how much work we must do to demand the humanity and dignity of our aging generations.
Thank you for your continued trust in my work. I remain deeply grateful to each of you. Thank you for your support throughout, and your patience and compassion during this time. I ask for your continued grace as I manage this situation with my family. Your support means more than I can express, and I look forward to returning to this work—with renewed strength and on the front lines with you—as soon as life allows.
I will post human rights content as I can, and life updates when possible. If you pray, we welcome your prayers.
With peace and gratitude,
Qasim
